Panasonic TX-P42ST50

Panasonic's most affordable NeoPlasma TV is a cash-strapped movie fan's dream.

Excellent HD picture quality ; Good 3D picture quality ; Solid multimedia playback

Pictures lose punch in bright rooms ; Some dotting noise over moving skin tones ; Minor crosstalk with 3D

Panasonic TX-P42ST50B review

For this review we tested the 42in model in the ST50 range, but it's also available in 50in (TX-P50ST50B), 55in (TX-P55ST50B) and 65in (TX-P65ST50B) screen sizes. All models have identical specifications except for their dimensions and power usage....

Excellent image quality from the moment you turn it on; the Viera TX-P42ST50B is a true Best Buy

Panasonic TX-P42ST50B review

The Panasonic TX-P42ST50B delivers truly excellent picture quality for standard-definition, HD and 3D material, with stunningly deep black levels, impressive brightness and natural colour tones. Potential buyers might want to see what the upcoming GT50...

Truly excellent black levels ; Very bright pictures by plasma standards ; Top-notch 3D performance ; Built-in Wi-Fi

Menus and EPG need improvement ; No 3D glasses included

There's little to fault with the TX-P42ST50B's picture quality. Its black levels are among the best I've seen on plasma TVs -- certainly comparable to last year's very pricey VT30 -- yet it also produces brighter images and punchier colours.
