Panasonic TC-P50GT50

If you're shopping for a 2012 TV and picture quality is your highest priority you should, in ascending order of financial recklessness, get a good plasma, splurge for an Elite or wait and buy an OL ED . If getting the best picture for your money is...

The Panasonic TC-PGT50 series exhibited outstanding overall picture quality, characterized by exceedingly deep black levels with great shadow detail, accurate colors, and solid bright-room performance. Unlike LCDs, as a plasma it has superb off-angle...

The GT50 isn't as strong a value as some competing plasmas. It uses more power than LCD TVs, and doesn't perform as well in bright rooms as those with matte screens. It doesn't come with 3D glasses. The GT50 is only available in 50-inch and larger sizes.

Superb picture quality and beautiful design place the Panasonic GT50 in the top tier of plasma TVs, but it's more expensive than others with similar performance.

Panasonic TC-P50UT50

Panasonic has a reputation for producing high-quality plasma televisions, and with its 2012 models the company has not disappointed. The new lineup has single-handedly changed the level of quality we now expect from midrange televisions. The Panasonic...

In pure dollar/performance terms the Panasonic TC-PUT50 series is one of the best TVs we've seen, with astounding picture quality for the money. Black levels are the equal of Panasonic's ST50 series in a darkened room, shadow detail is very good, and...

The UT50 series doesn't perform very well in a lit room, with blacks becoming muddy and indistinct. The performance of 3D is only passable, with quite distinct ghosting effects. The TV lacks advanced setup controls, which makes tweaking a better...

The Panasonic TC-P50UT50 plasma TV nearly matches the world-beating picture quality of the ST50 series, at an even lower price.

Panasonic TC-P50GT50 Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

Some of the recent HDTV models by manufacturer are designed just like a computer. Along with the normal functionality of a TV set, the models also come with smart networking and connectivity options. The 50-inch plasma TV set launched by Panasonic is...

Similar to the offline digital content, a user also gets the options to access a wide variety of online movies, music and videos. With the built in Wi-Fi and browser, the TV set allows users to browse their favorite websites directly on the TV screen....

Panasonic TX-P50GT50 review

For 2D and 3D Blu-ray fans there's simply no better TV

Immaculate 3D ; Reference-level 2D Blu-ray ; No motion blur ; Deep black levels

No 3D glasses ; Drab user interface ; Manual digital file playback ; Average sound

A class-leading plasma TV at an affordable price – at least compared to other high-end TVs – it's impossible to think of a better screen on which to watch both 2D and 3D Blu-ray.

Panasonic TX-P50GT50

Panasonic serves up another stellar helping of hot plasma action.

Stunning contrast performance ; Great value ; Good multimedia support

Fizzing and ghosting with horizontal motion ; No Lovefilm among online services ; 3D pictures not the brightest

The P50GT50 is a timely reminder as we approach the end of 2012 of just how brilliant plasma technology can be as a video display. In fact, if you're a movie fan it really is hard to think of a better way to spend the best part of £1200.

Panasonic TX-P50GT50 review

A close rival to the Sony KDL-46HX853 , Panasonic's P50GT50 has active-shutter 3D, a superb plasma screen and a ton of connections. But is it as Smart as the best hooked-up TVs?

Expert review by:

Panasonic TX-P50GT50

Understated style, clear Smart Hub with new-look iPlayer plus Netflix and Skype, 3D glasses and pictures are better, excellent HD tuners, deep black levels, dynamic colours, incredible detail

Nothing of note

Best 50-52in TV, Awards 2012. The best just got better.

"Great tv for the price."

Great tv, will buy another Panasonic next.

Looks plain but pretty good, not very heavy. Nice that it has 3d and internet.

Motion smoother has to be on strong, or else I can tell it kind of lags when the camera moves quickly.
