Good...and bad!

Purchased my Panasonic Viera TH-50PX80A in 2009. Have loved the overall performance. Beautiful picture quality for TV and DVD viewing. Downside...make sure you get at least a 4yr warranty on it. Of course mine being just over 4 yrs old now, it has...

Upgraded to this tv from an LCD and I am extremely impresed. The pictures are very clear. Watching sports there is no stuttering. It has an optical output which I use with my surround sound system which allows me to enjoy tv shows and movies more...

OK

I somewhat regret buying this TV as the power consumption (500 watts) is astronomical. Considering its a TV and you will probably have it on no matter whats on, it will send you broke quick smart. If I was told about this by the retailer I would never...

Its a great price for the size and quality. lots of input and output connections to connect multiple devices.

The worst thing is the power consumption, it uses 500 watts of power every hour and that can be a very expensive electric bill as I found out.

Excellent

I think this 50" Panasonic plasma television is extremely good value for money. It has a picture that is better than the LCD screen of my Teac 32". The colours are brighter, more dynamic and definitely the blacks are superior to the LCD. Don't worry...

It looks great, it's got an excellent picture, sound is nice, it has a very good remote control and it's very easy to use! My in-laws, in their 80's, had no problems with this Panasonic!

Really, the only(minor)thing that I could find is that if you want to watch a film on DVD in it's original format (4:3) instead of full screen (16:9), the area next to the picture is grey. Black would have been nicer in my opinion.

Excellent

Carefully researched flatscreen TVs and on paper favoured the 46in Sony Bravia (even though I don't like the company's ethics). When I went to look though, the Panasonic plasma had a much better picture, and I do like that company's ethics, so picked...

After 18 months still very happy with it. Excellent picture quality, good reception and easy to use.

Good

By saving about $1000 as compared to a full HD set we're well in front and the picture can't be faulted. I'm told that full HD also has trouble upscaling standard definition, so that's even better. Initially, I hadn't considered plasma thinking the...

Very good value Good picture Looks good and the controls are simple to use and intelligently planned
