Philips 7000 Series LCDs

Philips debuted its 7000 FlatTV series at CES. This new line ranges from 19to 52 inches (diagonal), and featuresa rounded edge surrounded by an acrylic edge, which not only gives the set aless rigid look but also enhances the sets technology. Philips...

Philips 42 PFL 7404

The Philips 42 PFL 7404 TV is a Full HD 42-inch LCD TV that went on sale in mid 2009. Although it currently carries a list price of 849 GBP, the TV is available from about 700 GBP online.

Gorgeous design ; Accurate 24p reproduction ; Crisp motion depiction

Weak contrast ; Awkward channel navigation

The 42 PFL 7404 is a great all-round TV with a sleek design. It scores further plus points for its passable video processing, decent colours, and relatively powerful sound. On the other hand, the Philips’ low contrast ratio means it has no place in the...

Philips 7000 series Smart LED TV review

For this review we tested the 42in model (42PFL7666T/12) in the 7000 series, but it's also available in 37in (37PFL7666T/12) and 47in (47PFL7666T/12) screen sizes - for £850 and £1,100 respectively. All models have identical specifications except for...

A great passive 3D TV, with all the usual high-end features and the bonus of AmbiLight

Philips 32PFL7404 32in LCD TV

It looks like Philips has come up with an attractive all-round TV package for an affordable price.

Especially as elsewhere it has some quite nice specifications up its sleeve. It has a Full HD resolution, despite its size and cost, and it claims a contrast ratio of 80,000:1 that ranks as one of the highest we’ve seen on such an affordable 32in TV....

Philips 42PFL7404 42in LCD TV

The Philips 42PFL7404 LCD TV proves to be a great value 42in set.

Connections-wise, the 42PFL7404 appears the same as that of the 42PFL8404, bar the missing Ethernet port. Which means you get highlights of four HDMIs, a USB port and a VGA jack - all very respectable for a sub-£800 42in TV. Closer inspection of these...

Philips Cineos 32PFL7404 review

The Cineos 32PFL7404H is one of Philips more basic TVs, but still has the company's pioneering HD Natural Motion and a 100Hz panel, which smoothes the jerkiness in films. Movies are recorded at 24 frames per second, which leads to a juddering effect...

A good-looking HD TV with good image quality, but the stylish menus aren't easy to use. You can get a better 37in model for less money.

Philips 7000 (7606)

Philips' new 7000 range is a mid-range TV and one of the few TVs available at the moment to utilize the passive 3D system. Philips calls it Easy 3D. But Philips 7606 is also a standard 2D TV driven by Philips' picture systems. Features such as NET TV,...

3D solution, great 3D glasses; Response time; Accurate colors after calibration; No light bleeding; 2-player full-screen gaming

Out-of-box picture settings; Input lag; NET TV slow and too few relevant Apps; Black depth

Philips 7606 offers all the multimedia functions you would expect from a mid-range TV nowadays. But the old advice goes that quality matters, not quantity, and we were not too convinced with Philips’ NET TV platform. It feels slow and unpolished and at...

Philips 42PFL7404

The 42PFL7404 hits the ground running with a really cute design, based around a slim, glossy bezel with a swanky outer transparent 'shroud'. The only pity aesthetically is that the 42PFL7404 doesn't carry Philips' always good-value Ambilight...

Brilliant colours, exceptional sharpness, crisp standard def upscaling, nice looks, good price

Standard definition pictures can look slightly noisy, limited viewing angle, a little labour intensive to use, no Freeview HD

Philips have created another excellent TV that competes with the opposition in every respect ..

Philips have created another LCD TV that produces the goods in terms of picture performance, but now with the added advantage of price competitiveness. The 42PFL7404 competes head on with the likes of Samsung, Sony and LG in this sector. Add superior...

Philips have created an exceptionally good TV that now competes on price ..

Philips, as always, have created an LCD TV's that produces the goods in terms of picture performance, but now they have introduced price competitiveness to the equation which makes for a very appealing mid range TV.
