Philips 42PFL7532D

The Philips 42PFL7532D is a 42in LCD TV with a native resolution of 1366x768. It can accept video signals in resolutions ranging from 480i through to ...

Excellent image quality in standard and high definition modes, Excellent colour reproduction, Attractive design

Non-standard rear connections with no supplied specialty cabling, Auto aspect ratio bugs, some noise in darker elements in standard definition mode

While the image quality is high and the sound quality is good, the connectivity options on the 42PFL7532D, as well as the required calibration time, aren't user-friendly.

Excellent image quality, 100Hz mode, Aesthetically pleasing, Integrated HD Tuner

Annoying connection options, Not localised to Australian market, Features need to be turned off to achieve good SD performance

There's a lot to like about this Philips TV: it's simple to set up and navigate, the picture quality is good, if not stunning, and it doesn't cost the earth. If you're looking for a 42-inch LCD TV, it's well worth consideration.

Easy to set up ; Vivid colours ; Natural skin tones

SCART ports problematic ; Auto Focus quirky ; Lacks detail in some blacks

One quirk we encountered was its Auto Format Feature. When this is on, the picture can unexpectedly jump to zoom in to fill the screen or just as quickly zoom out. This is particularly common when there is text onscreen, as when credits roll at the end...

Looking around at what is on offer these days not the best that is out there but frankly only a tiny monority would care and surely most of those when in the shop comparing. 5 year sago this TV along with many others out now would have been the best...

Picture quality especially the motion smoother. This is a keeper and the next time I bother to look will be when it packs up hopefully in several years ; 3yr warranty is good as well

None that I can think of although as ever if yo hav every specific needs from a odern TV check it does what you want

Don't use SCART as it isn't for HD.

Great picture

Set up is tricky and time consuming for an amateur if using several other appliances with it eg. cable box, home theatre systems, etc ; Mine has a signal that moves from the r to left of the screen every second in the form of a white light line. Very...

for <$1900 this is a great LCD, 3 year warranty, 5ms responce times. bigest problem is the Auto Format mode, that you can turn off int the menu but it dosnt stay off, every time you change a channel it comes back. and gets realy anoying. Remote...

Fantastic Picture quality (specialy HD) ; easy setup and menu system ; easy software updates

remote feels/looks cheap ; inputs are crazy (3.5mm Jack for Audio?!!!) ; and Auto format is always on ; No optical Digital output (has Digital Coaxal)
