Philips 42PFL7603D review

An exciting full HD blend of top-notch spec and superlative styling

First rate pictures ; Impressive sound ; Plenty of features ; Good connectivity

Possibly divisive styling ; Surprisingly rubbishy remote control

Admittedly a touch pricey, but well worth every penny if you're after a decent TV with design flair

Philips Cineos 42PFL7603D review

Philips' 42PFL7603D is a larger but slightly older version of the 32PFL9613D, and has the same stunning image quality.

Philips 42PFL7603D 42in LCD TV

The 42PFL7603D is the first LCD TV we've seen from Philips' 'Design Collection', and John's rather impressed.

Whether you're admiring the 42PFL7603D's stunning design, basking in the tranquil aura of its Ambilight system, lapping up its terrific pictures, being assaulted (in a good way) by its terrific audio power, or simply wondering how it can offer so much...

Excellent budget offering from Philips ..

We can't help thinking that some seriously good LCD TV's from Philips have been overlooked in the past. This shouldn't be the case with the 42PFL7603D which presents an all round performance that is hard to beat for the price.

Philips 42PFL7603

Inside this cutting-edge bodywork, though, beats not Philips' latest Perfect Pixel image processing engine, but last year's Pixel Plus 3 HD engine. If you want the latest Perfect Pixel HD engine in the new Design Collection bodywork, you'll have to...

Frequently stunning picture quality, great audio, gorgeous looks, endless feature count, impressive connectivity

Slight motion blur, some contrasty edges look over-stressed, requires care with settings

Very good picture and sound quality

Could do with at least one more HDMI socket
