Philips 42 PFL 7662 D/12

Pictures rendered on the Philips are radiant, and colors are faithfully portrayed; The TV presents pictures from 1080i HD playback with incredible clarity; The set is finished to a very high standard

The user cannot regulate the backlight; The corners of the screen show very slight brightening; Original cinematic material in 24p format has irregular judder

Both resolution and video processing of the Philips 42 PFL 7662 D/12 satisfy even the highest demands. However, the lack of a manually configurable backlight control remains a weakness.

Philips 42PFL7662D Review: 42" Full HD 1080p LCD TV Test

1:1 pixel mapping can be achieved over HDMI and component (1080i) ; Independent input memory settings ; Extremely speedy on-screen menu and channel navigation ; Semi-transparent user menu background ; Soothing EPG layout ; Almost silent operation ;...

Average blacks with persistent dynamic dimming ; No backlight control ; Red push could not be completely eliminated ; 1:1 pixel mapping [Native Resolution] available only on 1080i and not 1080p ; 1:1 pixel mapping [Native Resolution] setting cannot be...

To me, Philips is a company that has mastered the art of producing flat panels that dazzle in showrooms. When Colin and I started this website back in February 2007, the very first HDTV we went out and buy was the Philips 42PF9831D, because we were so...

Panasonic TH-50PZ700E: Now that's what I call a big Telly!

This review is on a monster Plasma Television, made by Panasonic. I don't actually own one of these, most are in pubs and clubs, but I had the use of one on a regular basis. I feel I am qualified to review, and also recommend this product. The size of...

Philips 42PFL7662D/05

Slim, Looks good on the wall, good sound quality. Perfect for Sky HD, Blueray or HD gaming

when using standard T.V or standard Sky the picture is blown up to the screen size, this gives a significant drop in picture quality, if closer than 3-4mts away you can see the pixels on the screen, so the further away from the T.V the better. You will...

LG 42LY95: A fantastic t.v at a great price.

The salesmen at your local Currys or the latest magazine review always promise you ''this will be the last t.v you'll ever buy in the next 10 years.'' Then a few months down the line, a new breed hi-def television arrives. It's bigger and better, pact...
