Some awkward operation., A bit noisy when running., High power consumption., Pesky gray side-bars in 4:3 format., Stand and speakers cost extra

Pioneer KRP-500A review

A stunning plasma screen combined with Freeview and an HD satellite receiver is just short of IDTV perfection

Amazing SD and HD picture quality ; DVB-S2 HD satellite receiver ; DLNA media playback

No Freesat EPG ; Can't record to USB

The latest plasma monitor from Pioneer sees a return to modular design

Awesome black levels ; Colour accuracy ; Slim panel

Doesn't support AVI files ; Satellite tuner is basic

Pioneer's last ever plasma television promises its best picture quality yet. Has the Kuro range signed off in style?

An expensive 50in TV and, if money is no object, also the best

Pioneer Kuro KRP-500A 50in Plasma TV

Pioneer's Kuro KRP-500A 50in plasma TV quite simply makes the best better.

Provided you're feeling flusher than most right now, all you need to know about the 500A is that it actually outperforms even its own sensational LX5090 sibling - and in doing so can justifiably claim to make the best better. In fact, I might even go...

Pioneer Kuro KRP-500A review

This is the ultimate TV for home-cinema buffs. With its separate media receiver, this screen is perfect for wall-mounting or professional installs. The flexibility offered by the numerous inputs and DVB-T, DVB-S2 and DLNA mean it's got more...

Picture quality ; Updated menus ; Massive control over picture settings ; Design ; Fantastic connectivity options

For the money, we think Pioneer could chuck in some speakers ; It's expensive

The price difference between the KRP-500A and the LX-5090 isn't massive, so the only real decision you'll need to make is if you're happy to have the extra media receiver. We loved the picture quality of this TV and, ignoring the price for a moment, we...

Pioneer Kuro KRP-600A 60in Plasma TV

Pioneer's 60in KRP-600A plasma telly is expensive, but also sublime.

Yes it's mega expensive, but if you have money to burn and want the very best picture quality available, then the KRP-600A is without doubt the TV to go for. Its images are truly sensational, particularly with hi-def material, but there's so much more...

Is it worth the extra money? Only you can decide but we're certain it's better than our Award winner, the PDP-LX5090, and that's really saying something...

Simply astonishing picture quality with the best sources ; gorgeous styling and build ; extensive spec ; ultra-slim due to two-box configuration

It's not cheap

Pioneer KRP-500A

Exceptional performance in virtually every area ..

With the KRP-500A Pioneer have managed to improve on what are already arguably the finest flat panels in existence. The improvement is not huge but once again Pioneer have managed to push TV performance boundaries.
