Samsung UN55F7100

There are some real standouts in Samsung's massive 2013 LCD TV range, particularly true when you're looking to spend a little money (the F5000 ), or a lot (the F8000 ). In the middle, things are little less clear-cut.

The Samsung UNF7100 LED LCD offers accurate color and shadow detail; striking minimalist design; smart TV suite is one of the slickest on the market with numerous apps; sound system suited to movie playback

Relatively expensive; lighter black levels than some other LED LCD TVs; some uniformity issues; despite Spotify's inclusion, music replay is poor.

The Samsung F7100 series offers a gorgeous design and impressive features, but "just OK" picture quality makes it a poorer value than its rivals.

Samsung's high-end LCD is feature-full, but doesn't quite perform to its asking price.

"My first non-Sony TV is amazing."

I am a big-time Sony guy with big electronics. While my 46" Sony had some internet access, the functionality and user interface was very clunky. Also, because of my previous Sony being so slim I believed all super thin TVs would lack in sound. That is...

Smart TV features. Sound. Picture smoothness (no blurring on high speed sports action). Design of Hardware.

Still working out the picture settings to my liking.

"I have only one word for this TV dissappointed period"

If you don't care about blotches and flashlighting in a $1500 TV, go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere because micro dimming doesn't do anything to control blotching in ligh-dark scenes. I'm having a tech check out my TV and will update this review. But...

Bright movies looked great. Watched Skyfall and it was incredible. The sound is good. The 3D is very impressive. A lot of extra features, many that I would never use.

This TV doesn't handle greys well at all. Grey to lighter-dark scenes show a lot of flashlighting and DSE. I dropped the contrast, brightness, and backlight (which just kills the picture depth) and the there still was noticeable streaking.

"Exactly What I Expected!"

Packaging: The TV was well-protected in the box, this is very important because TV screens are fragile and package handlers are not always careful. Buying a TV online is a bit risky but the packaging is good enough on this TV for you to go for the...

Excellent picture quality

Strange method of installing the remote control batteries poor design for accessing the compartment.
