The cabinet depth of some large-screen LCD televisions is less than half of what was possible only two years ago. And if the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show floor was any indication, manufacturers are looking to halve the depths of upcoming premium...
Excellent picture contrast. Network multimedia streaming. Thin cabinet design
Poor picture uniformity compared with other Samsung models. Incorrect scaling on some test video files
The Samsung LN46A850 offers a superthin cabinet design and useful extras at a competitive price, but it doesn't quite rise to the standard set by many of its Samsung siblings.
At a mere 1.9 inches, the 46-inch Samsung LN46A850 ($2,599.99 list) is the company's thinnest HDTV yet (the next thinnest is our Editors' Choice Samsung LN52A750, which has a cabinet depth of 4.2 inches). What's more, the LN46A850's colors are...

Thin is really in with the 52-inch LN52A850 from Samsung. This TV is less than two inches thick, and it sports Auto Motion Plus 120Hz technology and the stylish Touch of Color design. Is it worth your money? Read on to find out...
Auto Motion Plus 120Hz technology effectively reduces motion blur and offers multiple settings to tailor the motion to your liking ; The Ultra Clear Panel's reflective screen does help blacks look darker and create better contrast in a room with some...
The Ultra Clear Panel makes reflected images more visible (even more so than many plasmas), which can be distracting when trying to watcher dark content in a very bright room ; This TV falls at the higher end of the price spectrum for a 52-inch 1080p LCD
The LN52A850 is loaded with most of Samsung's top-of-the-line technologies, features, and design elements. You can find less-expensive 52-inch 120Hz displays, even in Samsung's line; however, if you want a fully loaded, high-performing LCD, this one...

The LN52A850 is the newest high end TV in Samsungs Winter 2008/2009 lineup. One of the key feature differences is the new DLNA compliance certification of this TV over the LN52A750. Another big feature difference is the slim 1.9" cabinet housing. It...
At around $2500 this 52" LCD offers a ton of value. It's got a great feature set and picture and the 1.9" depth is a premium feature. This LCD sells at a nice discount to its Sony competition KDL-52XBR6 and just a slight premium to its own brother the...
