Samsung LN40B650 Review - PCWorld

The Samsung LN40B650 produces great-looking on-screen images, and its Internet and home-networking capabilities will keep you entertained when there's nothing good on TV. You can find cheaper 40-inch HDTVs, but the image quality and the extras make the...

Very good picture quality

Poorly implemented picture-in-picture

The Samsung LN40B650 is an excellent all-around HDTV, thanks to its very good picture quality, Internet extras, and user-friendliness.

Samsung LN40B650

Reproduces relatively deep black levels; accurate color; very good dejudder processing; extensive feature set with Yahoo widgets, network streaming, and built-in content; solid connectivity with four HDMI inputs and one PC input; energy efficient.

Somewhat expensive; dark areas tinged bluer; benefits of 120Hz difficult to discern; shiny screen can cause reflections in bright rooms; no S-Video inputs; overt red coloration and funky styling not for everyone.

While not up to the picture quality of Samsung's topflight models, the feature-rich, uniquely styled LNB650 series still outperforms most LCDs on the market.

Samsung LN40B650 LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The Samsung LN40B650 sits in the middle of Samsung's lineup of LCD HDTVs. At 40-inchs it's available for a suggested retail price of $1,699.99, but can be found for a couple hundred dollars less if you shop around. The LN40B650 sports a variety of...

Review: Samsung LN40B650 HDTV

Thanks to its very good picture quality, Internet and home-network entertainment features, and general user-friendliness, the Samsung LN40B650 ranks as one of the best HDTV we've tested this year.

The digital artifacts around fast-moving objects surprised us, in part because this model did quite well on our motion benchmark tests, which stress a television’s ability to handle moving images far more than anything you're likely to see in a movie....

Samsung LN40B650

The Samsung LN40B650 is one of Samsung's newest LCD televisions, offering a variety of high-end features. The design is glossy black with reddish highlights that some will love and others will hate. The television has a full 1080p resolution with a...

"High Quality Picture with some drawbacks"

To be short, I feel that the cons outweigh the pros when it comes to this TV. My girlfriend found this set on sale at Sears due to the fact that the model was discontinued and it was the last one left. Since it was a shelf model and she was a Kmart...

very clear HD picture, bright/vivid colors, good sound quality, contemporary design, 4 HDMI inputs, ability to customize tv and name inputs, remote, internet features

pricey, very reflective screen (not ideal for bright rooms), connectivity issues faced with Comcast cable box connected via HDMI, some features such as AnyNet+ confusing/confounding, TV internet widgets slow to load and use

"Very Good Product - Easy to Use/Easy to Setup"

Great TV for the features -- lots of extras. If you want a larger TV with no extras but GREAT picture then get an LN46C630 Samsung -- they are on sale right now.

The setup you can do yourself. It takes at the most 15 minutes. The extras that come with it our cool and a nice surprising touch. Anyways, we love the TV and is the perfect size for viewing from about 8 feet away in an apartment.

No cons with the TV. Be aware, however of your cable or satelite provider. We had been given a crappy HD receiver and at first thought it could be the TV. It was not the TV. The receiver was bad!!!!
