Samsung PN50C8000

Ever since we tested the Panasonic TC-PVT25 series in June, we've been itching to compare it directly with Samsung's flagship 3D-compatible plasma HDTV for 2010. After finally getting the chance to review the Samsung PNC8000 series--the odds-on...

Excellent black-level performance; accurate color overall; properly handles 1080p/24 sources; excellent bright-room image for a plasma; numerous picture controls and tweaks; sleek styling with inch-deep panel; superb streaming and widget content via...

Less energy-efficient than LCD models; duplication of Apps and widgets can be confusing; 1080p/24 mode causes loss in black level performance; optional dejudder processing introduces artifacts; does not include 3D glasses; terrible remote.

Samsung's PNC8000 series plasma TV produces one of the highest-quality pictures we've tested this year in both 2D and 3D modes, yet costs less than its direct competition.

Samsung PN50C8000 Review

Samsung PN50C8000 is a 3D plasma TV that has a lot of frills to go around and impress any buyer. Great viewing angle, amazing black levels, accurate colors, and excellent video processing capabilities, make this particular Samsung plasma TV model a...

Really great blacks, Less glare than seen in last year’s models, Extensive entertainment options

Some perks, like Motion Judder Canceller and 600Hz Subfield Motion, are more marketing buzz than true add-ons, Not as slim as LCD TV models released this year

Samsung PN50C8000 3D Plasma HDTVReview

Samsung makes a play for top spot in the 3D-ready plasma HDTV market with the full-featured C8000 series PDP.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with the Samsung PN50C8000. While 3D and black level performance were not the absolute best we've ever seen, they were excellent, exceeding the performance of most if not all LCD and LED TVs. The C8000 series offers an...

Samsung PN50C8000 Review – 50-inch Plasma HDTV

The Samsung PN50C8000 is a 50” Plasma HDTV, and one of the smaller sets in Samsung's Class 8000 product line. It's a 3D model, which has 1080p. It is an ultra modern model.

Other features worth noting include the Real Black Filter. This innovation does a pretty good job of equalizing the picture quality, for both daytime and nighttime watching. This feature also helps to sharpen and brighten up images.
