Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV review: what premium looks like

The Samsung QN90C Neo QLED may sit just shy of flagship position, but it's no second-fiddle TV -- and the price proves it.

Class-leading HDR performance Excellent black levels, backlight control Outstanding color performance Powerful processing Premium design and build

Frustrating Smart TV OS Lofty price

“The Samsung QN90C Neo QLED is what a premium TV should look like.”

Review: Samsung QN90C QLED

Samsung's midrange QLED is still a winner, even as the competition heats up.

Impressive brightness. Luscious and natural colors. Excellent black levels and contrast. Solid shadow detail, especially for SDR content. Powerful picture processing for pristine detail and good upscaling. Dashing design. Loaded feature set with...

Some minor blooming. No Dolby Vision. Samsung Tizen is just OK. Relatively high price. Tough competition.

The Samsung QN90C continues the company's trend of high-end, high performance TVs.

Very high brightness output and strong contrast. ; Beautiful picture quality with vibrant, natural-looking colors. ; Minimalist design makes the viewing experience more enjoyable. ; User-friendly UI that is easy to use and navigate ; Very little...

The split screen feature feels a bit novelty and is confusing to use at first.

Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV review

The Samsung QN90C Neo QLED TV offers best-in-class HDR brightness and strong picture performance. Despite minor qualms, this is the QLED to beat this year.

, hands-down. Fantastic brightness and great off-angle viewing are performance highlights, while the endearing rechargeable remote and versatile interface are things we think you’ll appreciate.

Samsung QE55QN90C Review

Samsung's step-down Neo QLED is a bright and punchy effort

It’s got the looks, for sure, and in many ways the QE55QN90C has got what it takes where performance is concerned too… but it’s not the complete package, and consequently not your only choice when it comes to spending this sort of money.

Samsung QN90C TV review: a bright mini-LED TV that looks good from any angle

Samsung's feature-packed Neo QLED has wide appeal

High brightness ; Anti-glare screen ; Excellent gaming features

Some backlight blooming ; Complicated smart TV interface ; Pricey compared to the competition

Samsung’s next-best model in its Neo QLED series of TVs offers high brightness and impressive all-around video performance. And while it doesn’t hit the same performance heights as the company’s flagship QN95 series, it’s a good deal less expensive...

Samsung QN90C review: worth the investment?

Samsung's step-down Neo QLED TV, the QN90C, has some positives, but share of negatives too – should it be your next TV?

Bright, vibrant and high-contrast images ; Slim and elegant design ; Good gaming features

Backlighting could be better focused ; Some motion-control issues ; No Dolby Vision HDR

There are a lot of picture-quality positives wrapped up in the skinny, good-looking chassis of the Samsung QN90C. But there are some disciplines which this TV hasn’t mastered, which would make us suggest you divert to the higher-end QN95C instead as...

Samsung QN90C review: Bright and beautiful

Is this Samsung's value choice for near-flagship Mini LED brilliance at a much cheaper price?

Excellent black levels ; Strong brightness and colour with HDR content ; Excellent connectivity

Some minor backlight issues ; No Dolby Vision support ; Viewing angle limitations

While it lacks the design glamour and extreme backlight prowess of Samsung's QN95C and can't offer quite the same local contrast that you'd get with an OLED TV, the QE65QN90C delivers an outstanding Mini LED picture performance for its money.

Samsung QE55QN90C review: leave all the lights on

Its Neo QLED tech delivers ample brightness, but the Samsung QE55QN90C isn't the last word in picture quality

Bright, detailed and composed pictures ; Good gaming support ; Skinny, wall-hangable design ; Decent ergonomics

Not the last word in motion control ; Backlighting occasionally betrays itself ; Sound is nothing special ; No Dolby Vision HDR

If you can’t resist its skinniness, the QE55QN90C makes a lot of sense – but you should look long and hard at its pictures before you get the money out
