Samsung C8000 Series LCD TV

(Editor's note: This review of the Samsung C8000 series is based on our hands-on testing and evaluation of the 55-inch UN55C8000. According to the manufacturer, the image quality and features should be equivalent for each TV in this model line.)

Great video and solid audio in a thin package ; Top-notch Internet apps, including Skype

Pricey for its class ; Remote could be easier to use

The Samsung C8000 series delivers outstanding video and audio, plus a ton of well-designed Internet and media player features--for a hefty fee.

Samsung UN55C8000 55-Inch LCD TV Review - PCWorld

Overall, this HDTV handled motion exceptionally smoothly, as we'd expect from an LCD TV with a 240Hz refresh rate. It also aced our tests for jaggies and video resolution, underscoring how brilliantly the UN55C8000 handles image quality. It does this...

Samsung UN55C8000

Among HDTVs we've reviewed, the UNC8000 series is the first 3D TV , the first edge-lit LED-based LCD with local dimming , and the first example of Samsung's Apps for TV platform. It has the company's best LCD picture quality specs for 2010, packs in...

Better black levels than other edge-lit sets; accurate color with linear grayscale; numerous picture controls and tweaks; sleek styling with inch-deep panel; superb streaming and widget content via well-integrated Apps platform; 3D compatible; 2D to 3D...

Extremely expensive; subpar uniformity and off-angle viewing; lighter black levels than full-array local-dimming sets; black areas tinged bluer; 3D exhibited ghost images along edges (crosstalk); does not include 3D glasses; terrible remote.

Its 3D is still a work in progress and its 2D picture quality comes up short of the best available, but the high-end Samsung UNC8000 series still offers superb features, solid performance, and unique style.

Samsung UN55C8000 3D LED LCD HDTV First Impressions Review - Intro

The Samsung UN55C8000 is the part of the new 8000 series of 3D, LED-backlit televisions from Samsung for 2010. Samsung is promising plenty of amazing features for the coming year, including a greatly expanded streaming content package, realtime...

The Samsung UN55C8000 looks like an exciting TV, we just wish that some of the amazing features promised were actually viewable at CES. The 2D to 3D conversion was on the show floor, and that did look good. But the upgraded streaming content, Samsung...

Samsung UN55C8000 Review – 55-inch LED LCD HDTV

Samsung created ripples of excitement with its 8000 series this year. Belonging to the 3D generation with LED technology, the Samsung UN55C8000 is just the right set to fit into all your entertainment needs. In keeping with the Touch of Color series of...

The remote in the 9000 series is very innovative. Samsung promises to provide the same remote for the 8000 series as an optional accessory. It has an LCD touch screen panel. There has been some talk of using certain Samsung cell phones as remotes too...

Samsung UN55C8000 55-inch 1080p 3D LED TVReview

3D TV is finally here and this one was worth the wait, packing edge-lit LEDs, a 240Hz refresh rate and surprisingly rich online/multimedia options along with that whole extra dimension.

The Yahoo! Widgets for CBS TV and Showtime got me thinking: Right now, Monsters vs. Aliens is one of exactly... one 3D Blu-ray available, and even that is not being sold separately, only as part of the Starter Kit. ESPN is scheduled to broadcast the...

Samsung UN55C8000 – 3DTV with Samsung Apps

The UN55C8000 is the first LED-based edge-lit Samsung LCD TV with local dimming and Apps platform. It has the best picture quality for Samsung in 2010 and offers more features than before. The UN55C8000 is one-inch thick and it's pricing starts from...

Better black level performance than other edge-lit TVs; 3D compatible; better 2D-to-3D conversion; well-integrated Apps platform containing widget content and superb streaming; sleek and stylish deep panel; numerous tweaks and picture controls; more...

Terrible remote control; does not include 3D glasses; could not properly handle 1080p/24 content; bluish black areas; lighter black levels than full-array local dimming TVs; less off-angle viewing and uniformity; extremely expensive

The 3D feature of the Samsung UN55C8000 is still in progress and the 2D picture quality is short as compared to the other high-end TVs. In contrast, it delivers unique style and solid performance.

Samsung UN55C8000

While it doesn't have the highest contrast ratio for an LED-backlit TV, the Samsung UN55C8000XFXZA is an extremely competitive LED TV. With local dimming, 3D capabilities, an incredibly thin screen, an above-average refresh rate and very low power...

The Samsung UN55C8000XFXZA has the second highest refresh rate and the thinnest panel of all the TVs we reviewed

The contrast ratio of 8,000,000:1, while competitive, trails behind the top competitors

Because it offers fantastic display specifications and an impressively flat panel, this Samsung LED TV lands a top spot in our lineup.
