Samsung UN40C5000 Review – 40-inch LED LCD HDTV

This UN40C5000 television is the middle size in Samsung's 5000 TV series. Like the rest of the line, it's a 1080p LED HDTV. It's a great TV, too. From its clear picture and colors, to its ability to centralize your home entertainment, this is an...

There are just so many great features in this set. It’s certainly worth a look.

Samsung UN40C5000

The Samsung UN40C5000 ($1199 MSRP) is a 40-inch LCD TV. It comes just short of offering some of Samsung's best high-end features, but delivers on core performance and a few local networking features you might find handy

We're generally of fan of Samsung's entire line, as it seems to have fewer duds in the entry and mid-level level models than most manufacturers. The TV is stylish, sporting an ultra-thin frame that only LED backlighting is capable of. The menu...

Samsung UN40C5000

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The Samsung UN40C5000 ($1199 MSRP) is among the cheaper LED-backlit LCD models in Samsung 2010 line-up. We like the look and feel of the TV a great deal, but it’s not without it trade-offs.

Good budget LED TV

Pros ; Good contrast ; Good sound ; connectivity ; Ultra thin

Cons ; Power cord is extremely short ; Remote is not very responsive (though this can be said for almost any remote that comes with the TV) ; Screen is super glossy and gets dirty very easy

ONE GREAT TV

I did a lot of research before I selected this TV. I didn't want anything bigger than 40 inch, but I wanted at least a 37 inch. This same model comes in a 37 inch but it's only $100 cheaper - the extra 3 inches were worth the $100 to me. The on-screen...

Look at the specs like the 3,000,000 to 1 dynamic contrast. The color and clarity of this set is even better than I expected. I did a lot of research on everything that was available. This particular TV is the highest rated by Consumer Reports in the...

Didn't find any - didn't expect any. If I do, I'll revisit this review and note it here

Awesome!

I really love this TV, use it mainly with my XBOX to play games and watch football games. The picture quality is awesome and you can see the screen in any light! Hooks up to the internet so you can update firmware. Two USB hookups that I charge my...

Amazing picture ; Great contrast in any light ; Great viewing angle ; Ethernet Hookup, I can stream Movies and music for any of the computers on my network ; Great for gaming

60Hz (non-3d ready) ; Doesn't cook food for me

Gamer Heaven

So in response to the "blotchy picture" people the reason you aren't getting a crisp picture is because you aren't displaying a 1080p signal. Even the manual offers suggestions for ghosting and non-HD sources. This is common with every other HDTV I've...

AUX- out, Compatible w/ external hard drive, DVI/HDMI out, and did I mention it plays full 1080p from your hard drive? Look at first I was effy reading these reviews, but after purchasing this product i'm in shock with its abilities

Viewing angles are not great. Standard mode can have its mind of its own automatically tuning your picture. Also set up is a little annoying

Very Good TV

Very Good Set. The four HDMI inputs makes the hookup a breeze. Even the tiny speakers sound good, although most installs would be through an A/V receiver. Very light weight. Hooked mine up with an articulating arm and without the stand it only weights...
