Samsung UNES6500 review

As we hurtle through the closing half of 2012, we reviewed most of the significant TVs of the year at CNET -- from the joyous highs of the Panasonic ST50 to the ignominious lows of the Panasonic DT50 and everything in between . In this case the...

The Samsung ES6500 is a decent performer with excellent design and a good mix of features. Colors are fairly accurate and vibrant. Shadow detail is very good, lending weight and texture to images.

Black levels are not up to par with the model it replaces, and uniformity is fairly bad.

The Samsung UNES6500 is a well-featured midrange television with good color but otherwise ho-hum picture quality and value.

"Just Love It!"

I ordered a Samsung 60-inch 3D HDTV; it finally arrived last week. I bought this 60-inch TV because I wanted to take advantage of watching 3D channels from DirecTV. After having it for more than a week, here are my 2-cent comments: 1) Picture quality...

Be ready for compromise.

I picked up the TV three weeks ago and quickly found out that the edge lit LED technology was a step backwards in terms of picture quality. The research on some forums prior to the purchase raised a few red flags about blotching, flashlight effects and...

Good 2D to 3d conversion Relatively smooth Smarthub operation on high speed and through LAN (not wifi) even with single core processor. Allshare is a nice feature

Picture quality is a compromise. Corners are noticeably brighter and uneven (flashlights) between the both in intensity and the area of brighter hot spot. Blotchy screen in dark sequences. Does not support CR2 picture file format (RAW)

Based on bang for the buck, it's a great buy.

I did a lot of research and showrooming. It's not worth the 50-100% increased cost for slight improvements. For a dark room, I might have gone plasma. I'm comfortable buying TVs from places like Amazon or Crutchfield. However, I took an internet quote...

Many customization options. Great HD picture. Good sound. Easy Internet access. Very light weight. Great price for the features. Works well in a bright room.

Took a bit of trial and error to get colors, contrast, brightness, and other features right for us. 3D not highly rated, but its not a conern for us.

Just a bit of buyer remorse

I have many Samsung products, including a 40 inch LCD TV which has served me well for six years. Hubby has been wanting a larger TV for our living room and has coveted a Smart TV. We decided on this one. He wanted 55 inch; I thought that was too big. I...

Very good 2D and 3D pictures

Very good picture on 2D and 3D with factory settings Good TV sound Better with external speakers Easy setup procedures Easy to network using wired or wireless connection Easy to update software Good selection of smart apps/all working

TV displays round white ghost like images on some but not all black pictures. Out of box picture had blur in back ground. Blur problem self corrected in five days. Glasses do not fit well. According to Samsung TV is calibrated at the factory

Excellent picture after simple adjustment

This TV has an excellent picture, period. If your main criteria for a TV is the picture then I don't think you can go wrong with this TV. Now some background... Out of the box, news shows were unwatchable while movies and most other programming were...
