Sharp LC-70LE650U

Sharp's Aquos LE650U series offers reasonably priced LED-backlit HDTV with a generous feature set and an overall sharp picture. Color accuracy and viewing angle performance could be better, though.

The Sharp Aquos LC-LE650U series dispels the notion that buying an inexpensive big-screen HDTV means settling for a stingy feature set. For $1,499.99 (list) you get a well-designed 60-inch edge-lit LED TV in the LC-60LE650U, with a 120Hz refresh rate,...

Sharp's LE650 TV a solid value

The Sharp LE650 series sets the big-screen LCD TV value bar high with very good picture quality for the price.

The Sharp LE650 boasts better overall picture quality than most competing LCD TVs. Black levels and shadows are dark and detailed, color is accurate, and the image maintains fidelity well in a bright room

Sound quality has been compromised in the pursuit of a smaller cabinet; some slight black uniformity issues; cheaper big-screen TVs are available

Sharp LC-70LE650

The Sharp LC-70LE650 is a huge 70-inch LCD HDTV with very good overall image quality as it has good black levels and color-accuracy. The sound could be better and the price is high compared to other large TVs, but it is an impressive set.

Attractive design, Overall good image quality, 4 HDMI inputs

High price, Sound quality is lacking

Sharp's built in Wifi comes in handy in the LC-70LE650U to connect to the Smart TV Internet options for 2013. There is a dual core processor to allow you to watch TV, while toggling among Smart TV options. The processor also speeds the Smart TV...

While this mode is fine for watching normal cable or broadcast TV, it does not perform well with DVDs or Blu-Ray discs. It's a de-judder mode that removes judder for movies but also removes too much of the natural background blur that is supposed to be...

"Great TV at a good price...for games, blurays and more"

I spent hours and days and looking into TV's. I wanted a 70" without spending more than $2k total! I game every now and then and watch blurays. After extensive research and lots of questions....Here's what I found out and why I choose this model:

Outstanding picture

Minimal glare from the screen

"Huge screen, great picture, outstanding value."

Have had this for about a week now, replaced a 50" Samsung plasma TV. I was tempted to buy a Panasonic 65" plasma that was next to this in the store, but in bright lighting it was really dim, as CNET found in their review of that Panasonic. My viewing...
