Sharp LC-42SB48UT

The Sharp LC-42SB48UT ($899.99 MSRP) is a 42-inch LCD at an average price designed to suit average needs. It would be suited to this role, too, if it weren't for a few very quirky aspects that make it stick out like a sore thumb. Editorial Note:This is...

The LC-42SB48UT ($899.99 MSRP) is something of a strange beast: it’s not quite a no-frills HDTV on the cheap, nor does it offer any exciting features like networking. But at this price, we expect a little more than a 42-inch screen, decent performance,...

It delivers quality for a great price.

It's AWESOME!

I can use this tv in my bedroom or the main room and I love the picture and the features this hdtv offers wherever I place it

Any flaws i/e non-pivoting pedestal can be fixed easily

Hard to beat at this price point.

I may not be a video freak, but the quality of the image on this "Economy" variety 1080p set is TERRIFIC. I really don't see the $300+ difference to get 120HZ & a slicker interface. It looks good and delivers. What else do you need

I'd have appreciated a built in swivel base. and a higher level of audio performance. Both are easy to fix

clouding, but otherwise a good monitor

There is some clouding on this item (darks aren't 100% dark across the screen)

Changing Volume Lock

I noticed a lot of people making mention of the sound being very bad on this LCD. The reason the volume may be low is you have to change the universal Volume Lock on your cable provider box, mine is Comcast. Its on the instructions with the remote....
