Sharp LC-60LE636E review

Sharp begins its 'big screen, small price' campaign

Unbelievably cheap ; Mostly good picture ; Nice design ; Decent audio

Backlight problems ; Poor online system ; Some operational foibles ; Motion processing requires care

Sharp's new policy of offering huge screens for peanuts prices has nearly got off to an extraordinarily positive start with the Sharp Aquos LC-60LE636E. It's better looking than it's got any right to be for a budget 60-inch TV. It's got more features...

As you'd expect – given that we're called Home Cinema Choice – we just love really big flatscreens. We'd think nothing of knocking through a living room wall and obliterating our kids' playroom to accommodate a monster display. Especially if that...

Sharp, detailed HD images; good colour fidelity; great value for money; USB timeshifting

Light pooling from edge LED system; no BBC iPlayer or 3D playback; some motion judder

60in of often good picture quality for less than £1000. Surely there can't be anything not to like, right?

It’s breathtakingly cheap ; Attractive design ; Many good picture quality attributes

Backlight clouding ; limited online service ; Standard def (predictably) struggles a touch

But come on people: surely getting ANY online system on a 60in TV that costs under £1000 has to count as a bonus, right?

This tv is absolutely excellent as an every day tv at what is now an unbelievable price for such a large screen. Nobody can touch Pixmania pricewise. My consevatory is the main lounge so a plasma screen is unwatchable with a glass screen because of the...

This is a truly excellent 60 inch lcd tv. Good colour and contrast straight out of the box but most natural picture in movie mode and some tweaking

Not the best smart tv or best remote control
