Sharp LC-52 DH 77 E

The Sharp LC-52 DH 77 E TV is a Full HD, 52-inch LCD TV, released in autumn 2009 and currently selling for around 1,000 GBP.

Rich contrast ; Superb 24p playback ; Accurate colours

Low motion clarity ; No format switching for HD signals ; Weaknesses in resolving fine HD details ; Miserable sound; slight humming noise during operation

Overall, the Sharp delivers a decent picture and is well suited to everyday TV viewing. Weaknesses lie in the poor motion clarity and meagre tuner, which only accepts analogue TV and DVB-T. Still, 1,000 GBP is a stunningly low price for a screen of...

Sharp LC-46DH77E television review

A wind-up radio is eco-friendly. So is a solar-powered charger for a phone. But how about a 46-inch LCD TV that uses a smidgen less electricity than the others, but lights-up your entire living room regardless? Err, no way! In our opinion it's trite...

Strong colours, excellent onscreen menus, very involving Blu-ray picture

Some blur and noise, weak audio

You won’t find many bells and whistles here, but if you’re after a monster screen to pair with a Blu-ray player there's few LCD TVs of this size around that give a cinematic treatment to HD sources

Sharp Aquos LC-46DH77E 46in LCD TV

This Sharp 46in LCD TV has 'green' credentials, but is that enough to win over John?

Anyway, I'll quit my bitching now and leave you to make your own minds up about how much you care about the 46DH77E's Eco functionality. Though in true miserable bastard style, I'm determined to get the last word in by adding a parting shot. So, in the...

Sharp Aquos LC46DH77E review

While Sharp is to be congratulated on trying to bring green issues to the fore with the Aquos LC46DH77E, it's hard to see the supposedly ground-breaking eco button really making much of a difference to the planet's fate. But the set does deliver good...

Lovely design ; HD pictures frequently look excellent ; Remarkably cheap for such a large TV ; eco' button on the remote could help you save money

Weak audio ; Black levels and standard-definition pictures could be better ; Green features are disappointing ; Manual is huge for an ostensibly eco-friendly TV

Conclusion While its green promises look more like marketing spin than real world-saving technologies, the Sharp Aquos LC46DH77E's surprisingly low price still makes it worth considering, especially if you're in a position to feed it a decent amount of...

Sharp LC32DH77

This TV is far from poor, but given the quality of the competition it finds itself forced to accept average status

Full HD specification ; decent TV tuner ; insight OK ; smooth motion

Struggles with dark scenes ; noise apparent at times ; picture quality can't match class leaders

Sharp LC42DH77

This is an ordinary TV made to look even less impressive by the strength of its competition

Alluring specification for the money

Unspectacular picture and sound performance ; strange, slightly magenta cast to images

Sharp LC42DH77E

Not so long ago, Sharp LCD HDTVs were the golden jewels of home electronics. Their quality was simply unbeatable and oozed opulence from every angle. Simply put, Sharp flat panel TVs were the Kuro of their days. But that all changed in 2007 when Sharp...

Build Quality ; Accepts and displays 1080p24 without any motion artifacts ; 1:1 Pixel Mapping ; VESA and CEA Support ; DNR ; Low Input Lag ; Black and White Uniformity ; MCFI Separation ; Good Black Level ; Defeatable Edge Enhancement ; SD Performance...

Lack of Gamma and Greyscale Controls ; Viewing Angle ; Scaling Stability ; Colour Accuracy ; Gamma ; Sound ; De-Interlacing ; Colour Banding and Posterization ; YCbCr Artefacts ; Low-Tone Smearing ; Panel Banding ; Viewing Angles ; RGB Sub-Pixel Structure

All in all, there's nothing special about the Sharp LC42DH77E LCD TV. However, if Sharp were to aggressively price the Sharp LC42DH77E, it may become popular among the budget-conscious.

Sharp 46 inch TV (LC-46DHH77E) : Sharp Aquos 46 inch TV - LC-46DH77E

This is certainly big; in fact I was not sure I could fit it in my lounge in the normal place. My first surprise was that I could lift it easily enough onto its stand and then onto the unit where it sits.

The 46" Sharp Aquos LCD television measures 111x67x10cm and assuming you do not select to wall mount it sits on a small oval stand 50x30cm that lifts the unit 10cm. Fitting the stand involves adding a metal bar to the back of the TV and then using a...
