Sony Bravia KDL-40HX703 - Pocket-lint

The Sony Bravia KDL-40HX703 falls into Sony's "Cinematic" range. They represent a step-up over the excellent EX or "Essentials" range that have gone down

Excellent pictures, 200Hz display, network features

Fatter than you might think, no Wi-Fi, EPG can be a little slow to open

Sony's 2010 Bravia line-up have impressed us, serving up not only stunning pictures, but a comprehensive palette of extras. In truth, the HX703 is a fantastic TV to live with, but given that much of that nicety comes from features you'll find on the...

Sony KDL-40HX703 review

Once again Sony has produced a cracking LCD – it's more expensive then the 'EX-503 but we think it's a great all-rounder

Pictures as stunning as they are balanced and composed ; decent sound ; lovely looks ; great usability

Not quite the ultimate for Blu-ray detail ; the Philips 40PFL7605 sounds even better

It might not be the best in every single way, but it’s the best all-rounder by far

Sony KDL-46HX703 review

Following hard on the heels of its 46 inch sibling, this 40 Sony LCD is an accomplished performer with great detail and clarity

Smart design ; a doddle to use ; excellent Freeview HD tuner ; pictures and sound excel

Very little

Form and functionality combine to superb effect in this latest Sony TV

Sony Bravia KDL-40HX703

Sporting Sony's new Monolithic Design concept, this 40in LCD TV certainly looks the part.

While its Monolithic design might have been what initially caught our eye about the 40HX703, it’s actually been the set's strong picture performance and unrivalled streaming video talents that have lingered most in our minds.

Sony KDL-46HX703

Picture quality watching hdtv through the built in freeview HD tuner is excellent, especially the football. PS3 quality at 1080p is also superb. It is very easy to setup using the menu. The tv design is also superb in black

The sound output is ok but is a lot better through a sound system

Sony KDL-40HX703

USB input for photo's and ample hdmi ports. Nice looking set

Don't know enough yet but have a problem deciding if occasional picture break up is a TV fault or cable supplier signal problem
