Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850

Sony's Bravia HX850 series is a gorgeous but pricey HDTV line offering LED backlighting, 3D support, Web features galore, and accurate out-of-the-box color—if only the contrast ratio were higher.

Attractively designed. Excellent image detail. Wide viewing angles. Accurate colors. Energy efficient

Pricey, and 3D glasses not included. Low contrast ratio

At $2,600, Sony’s KDL-55HX850 is a bit pricey, especially when compared with our Editors’ Choice for Budget HDTVs, the $1,430 Vizio M3D550KD . Still, it is $900 less expensive than the same-size LG’s 55LM9600 , and outperforms that set in every way,...

Sony KDL-55HX850

In 2011 we reviewed two excellent Sony TVs in the form of the HX929 -- the best-performing LCD TV of the year outside of the Sharp Elite -- and the NX720 , a more affordable yet still superb performer that earned our Editors' Choice Award . Our...

The Sony KDL-HX850 delivers excellent picture quality for an LCD, with deep blacks and plenty of detail in shadows. Blooming was minimal, and both uniformity and viewing angle were very good. The Gorilla Glass front adds both toughness and good looks.

The HX850 is expensive compared with like-performing plasmas, and color tended somewhat toward blue.

The Sony HX850 is a smart-looking Smart TV with sparkling picture quality, making it a front-runner for plasma-phobic videophiles.

Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850

The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850 is Sony's flagship TV for 2012, throwing in all the bells and whistles Sony has to offer. What that amounts to, though, seems largely academic. Most of the features are either minor upgrades to online and streaming content...

Expect it to have excellent performance ; A dual-core processor built in

Terrible menu, for a second year in a row

The Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850, as the flagship TV for 2012, represents all the Sony has been developing in the last year. So It’s fascinating, therefore, to see how they want to launch their 2012 strategy here at CES, the industry’s annual call to arms....

Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850

Sony's flagship is plenty powerful, but a muddled interface makes it less “smart” than the competition

The design of this TV is quite attractive.; A top-notch contrast ratio.; Colors on this TV is very good

Sony’s split-personality internet platform needs work

Sony KDL-55HX850 Review – 55-inch LED LCD HDTV

The 55-inch LED TV model is one of the most advanced and high-end models launched by the manufacturer. It sports an attractive flat screen made of Corning Gorilla Glass. Sony has also included a set of video related features complement the latest 3D...

Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850

With its one-sheet-of-glass design, the Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850 offers rather good 3D, excellent 2D and a good range of network smarts.

Very good 2D picture ; Reasonably good 3D ; Good network content ; Good tablet/phone control feature

No PVR function

It costs quite a bit more than the next model down, but nonetheless the Sony Bravia KDL-55HX850 is a worthwhile step up in performance.

European 3D TV 2012-2013

Sony's KDL-55HX850 is the ideal television for 3D movie fans. The very fast response time of the panel and its ability to keep the two image channels separate means image quality is striking, with almost no crosstalk. Sony's Cinema mode, meanwhile,...

"This is one of the outstanding HDTV that I seen so far."

I am a electronic sales and recommend to get the LED HDTV for its energy efficiency and picture quality. I also recommend you to check out http://www.squidoo.com/best-hdtv for information on what best HDTV to buy this year.

Deep black and image quality is just simply amazing in every way.

However I notice the sound quality is not that good and needs to be hooked up to home theater system.
