Sony NSX-40GT1

Sony GT1 series information: Our review of Sony's 40-inch NSX-40GT1 TV is based on our time with the 46-inch NSX-46GT1TV. The observations made here are applicable to the 32-inch NSX-32GT1. According to Sony, the Internet Connected sets have identical...

Complete Google TV integration into every aspect of the TV ; Image quality exceeds spec expectations ; Modern edge-to-edge glass design ; Smart, capable controller ; Reasonably priced

Google TV remains under construction ; Steep learning curve for controller ; Wobbly stand

Sony has engineered a valiant attempt at the ultimate vehicle for Internet TV, but Google TV’s persistent potholes provide a bumpy ride.

The Sony KDL-40EX400 ($599 MSRP) is an inexpensive 40-inch with few frills that nevertheless manages to deliver a great baseline performance. TVs in this price range are almost commodity items, so it's a welcome site when a TV feels like some care has...

The Sony KDL-40EX400 certainly has enough ports, including four HDMIs, two component AV inputs, and one composite input, making it a great choice for an inexpensive home theater hub. A USB port on the side can be used for playing photos, music, and...

Sony Bravia KDL-40V5100 LCD HDTV

As the most expensive entry in the group, as well as the smallest-though not by much in either case-a lot was expected of the Sony. True, it lacks many of the bells and whistles that raise a ruckus on the company's higher-end sets. There's no sign here...

The Advanced Contrast Enhancer dynamically adjusts the backlight in response to the image's characteristics. Sony's literature claims that the set offers Dynamic Contrast, but unless this is the same as the Advanced Contrast enhancer, I couldn't find...

Super Paper Mario

Super Paper Mario is a game that will appeal to a wide range of players. It’s retro, it’s new, it’s a platformer, it’s a RPG. Easy for thenew gamers that the Wii is recruiting to enjoy but challenging enough forpeople who have been playing Mario games...

Super Paper Mario

Mazza's first outing on the Wii has enough to fill the void until Super Mario Galaxy lands.

Clean visuals; great music; cool blend of RPG and action elements; funny story

A little on the easy side; not much replay value

Sony NSX-40GT1

The Google TV capabilities of the Sony NSX-40GT1 allow you to access the internet in a computer-like environment, with the ability to have more than one window up on your screen at a time. It comes with 12 apps and full browsing capabilities. You can...

You can open two windows on your screen at the same time, allowing you to watch TV and surf the web simultaneously

You must have Dish Network to search your TV programming at the same time as your apps and LAN-connected electronics

The Sony NSX-40GT1 gives you access to your cable or satellite TV channels as well as full browsing capabilities.

Amazing TV

I was looking for a new HD TV to replace my low-end HD TV, so after some trail and error, I came bought this TV, and I have to say I am very satisfied with the purchase. The Sony Bravia KDL32EX400 is an outstanding 32? (31.5?) HD-TV. It's ... Expand...

Design, connectivity, features, picture sound & quality.. pretty much everything

The remote could be a little more modern, sound can be a slight issue, but after tweaking that issues is resolved! TV stand does not swivel

Consumer review by:

For the price alone, it is a best buy in that class.

For the price, it's an excellent buy.

I just purchased this (for less than $400, new) - so I haven't explored much of its capability It is a pretty basic HDTV and as expected of a Sony - it has good picture quality, ok sound, intuitive operation and most of all plenty of connectivity. Right

I agree with everyone - there is no swivel - not good for a couch potato like me. I don't know yet if I can control this with the DirecTV remote or a universal remote - if not, then that could be a problem as I don't enjoy having several remotes to fiddl

Good price, good pic, great connection options

If on sale at a good price, will be a great TV for smaller room or bedroom.

For the price, it's one of the best in class and Sony has a long history of excellent TVs

IThis is my first HDTV, so it'll probably be out of date fairly soon due to the LEDs falling prices

I bought this TV at the Stony Store today for $509.99.

A Sony product for an excellent price. Light weight and easy to set up. Highly recommended.

Very nice entry level set for the price

This TV is 60 HZ. You can see from the in store demo, that there is some blur
