Review: Sony Bravia KDL- 52W5100 Television

Sony's Bravia sets you up with Amazon VOD, YouTube, and Netflix — and all of it even looks good on this TV! There's no built-in...

Infinite lazy Sundays’ worth of streamed Internet content delivered right to its 1080p, 52-inch screen — including Amazon VOD, YouTube, and Netflix. Excellent video processing makes even Web video look good. Beautiful, filmlike picture

Yahoo Widget apps are painfully slow to load. No Wi-Fi

Sony Bravia KDL-40W5100 HDTV Review

Incredible Internet options ; Very good picture quality

Disappointing sound ; Bad overscan

The Sony Bravia 40W5100 isn't just an HDTV with a very good picture--it's a 40-inch window to the Internet.

Sony Bravia KDL-W5100 review: Sony Bravia KDL-W5100

Reproduces a relatively deep shade of black; generally accurate color; good dejudder processing in Standard mode; extensive feature set with Yahoo Widgets and built-in streaming-video options including Amazon Video On Demand and soon Netflix;...

Expensive; benefits of 120Hz difficult to discern; cannot separate dejudder and antiblur modes; some screen uniformity issues; dark areas tinged blue; most free, streaming-video options not compelling.

With a full suite of interactive features as well as solid picture quality, the Sony KDL-W5100 series might be worth the higher price to streaming video fans.

Sony KDL-40W5100 LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The KDL-40W5100 is a 40-inch LCD from Sony. The TV has a 120Hz mode, but it didn't impress us with its affect on blur. The better feature on the TV is its internet connectivity. Sony has managed to land more content providers than any other...

The Sony KDL-40W5100 is expensive for its size, but its price is somewhat justified by its performance and feature set. First of all, the TV had an impressive black level and contrast ratio. It did well on most of our color accuracy tests, but the...

Sony Bravia KDL-52W5100 – Good picture quality

Sony Bravia KDL-52W5100 is the middle sized in the company's 5100 series, there is also a 52 and a 40 inch model and this review will apply to all of them. This is Sony's least expensive TV with full interactivity suite. The styling of this set is very...

Deep black level reproduction is great ; Color is accurate ; Dejudder processing is good in standard mode ; Good feature set ; Attractive looks ; Lots of connectivity options on the sides

Expensive ; It is difficult to discern the 120 Hz benefits ; Antiblur and dejudder modes cannot be separated ; Issues with screen uniformity ; Areas which are dark, tinge blue ; Video streaming options could have been better

This panel is a bit expensive but with the solid picture quality and lots of interactive features, it is hard not to recommend this TV.

Sony KDL-40W5100 Review – 40-inch LCD HDTV

Overcoming small hiccups like being costly and issues of screen uniformity, Sony has introduced a model which is perfect for streaming video fans. Although this pricey model has the capability to burn a deep hole in the pocket, yet the glamor of the...

Connectivity options are good but most of the important ports are to the side. Out of 4 HDMI, only 1 is at the rear. There is a PC input and an USB port at the side too. This has been done to provide greater access for fidgeting around with the ports....

Sony Bravia KDL-65W5100 LCD HDTV Preview

Sony's KDL-65W5100 is the largest in the BRAVIA W series of LCD televisions. The 65" HDTV features a 1080p resolution, a solid contrast ratio and a few extra features to help kick up the video quality. It's also one of what is still a relatively...

For the time being, though, Amazon Video On Demand is available, which also has some HD content. Free content is available as well through other providers, such as YouTube, CBS, Sports Illustrated, and more. While the free content is not exactly...

Sony KDL-65W5100 LCD HDTV Reviewed

The W Series may land in the middle of Sony's LCD lineup in terms of its features, but it's one of the few series to offer a 65-inch screen size. The KDL-65W5100 uses a CCFL backlight, and it includes Motionflow 120Hz and BRAVIA Internet Video....

Motionflow 120Hz technology effectively reduces motion blur and offers multiple settings to tailor the smoothing effect to your liking ; This TV has a 1080p resolution and will accept 24p sources via its HDMI inputs ; The KDL-65W5100's screen is not...

This TV does not use the LED backlighting or 240Hz technology found in higher-end Sony lines ; The 120Hz function doesn't offer separate modes for blur reduction and film judder, so you have to accept Motionflow's smoothing effect if you want to...

LCD is still a pricier proposition than plasma at the 65-inch screen size, but it's more reasonable than it used to be. The KDL-65W5100 ($5000) is currently the only 65-inch model in Sony's lineup and offers a nice complement of imaging technologies,...
