Sony KDL-46 Z 4500

Picture quality depends strongly on viewing angle., Relatively weak contrast., Slight color casting., PlayStation-3-style menu takes some getting used to., Remote control is very large and therefore not very handy

The Sony KDL-46 Z 4500 emerges as an excellent TV, particularly in a bright living-room environment. Its high motion clarity, decent color reproduction, and comprehensive feature set make it a great all-round model. In a dark home-theater, on the other...

Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 review

Sony's 40Z4500 is a pricey but solid performer that's fairly run-of-the-mill

Nicely naturalistic pictures ; Solid all-round performance

Slightly high price ; Mildly unadventurous execution

A generally solid, but ultimately rather unexciting set that's unlikely to set movie fans' hearts aflutter

Sony KDL-46Z4500 review

Its 200Hz processing breaks new ground – but for a price

Stylish design ; 200Hz works ; Good picture quality generally

Picture a little underwhelming ; Rather expensive

An innovative and mostly excellent TV, but we're not totally sure 200Hz justifies its current price

Sony Bravia KDL40Z4500

Australia's first TV with a 200Hz mode.

Great 200Hz motion mode, excellent contrast and blacks, DLNA certified, good SD performance for a 1080p screen

Some annoying judder when not running Motion Flow, default Cinema setting may be too soft for some

Sony's Bravia KDL40Z4500 is a fantastic Full HD TV. It's Australia's first 200Hz television and it provides an excellent Motion Flow mode; the real faults we could find with it were a question of personal taste.

Costing a cool £600 more than the next set down in the range, we're expecting special things from this Z series. Show us what you can do, Sony...

The ’Z4500 represents the pinnacle of what Sony is capable of right now, so it should come as no surprise that it’s simply stunning

Sony KDL-46Z4500 review

Sony really is showing what it can do with this stunning step-up model to the award-winning KDL-46W4500

Builds on the already-impressive ’W4500 to create the best picture of any 46in TV we have yet seen

The individual improvements aren’t as dramatic as £600 might suggest

The ’Z4500 represents the pinnacle of what Sony is capable of right now, so it should come as no surprise that it’s simply stunning

Sony KDL-40Z4500 review

Sony's flagship LCD is the first 200Hz TV we've tested. Does it live up to the hype?

Not cheap, but a very fine TV with amazing black depth for an LCD

Sony Bravia KDL-46Z4500 46in LCD TV

This Sony Bravia LCD TV features 200Hz processing but what's it like overall?

I don't mind saying that I really agonised over this one. Should it end up with a 9 or an 8? In the end, the quality of the 200Hz engine together with the other undeniable strengths of the picture just did enough to bring me down on the side of an...
