Sony Bravia KDL-46BX420

By this time next year companies like Sony might not even sell TVs like the KDL-BX420 series. The CCFL (cold-cathode fluorescent) backlight that illuminates this TV's LCD panel is slowly going extinct, replaced especially in larger screen sizes by LEDs...

The inexpensive Sony KDL-BX420 series evinced good performance for an entry-level non-LED-TV, with deep-enough black levels and accurate color in mid-bright areas. It also, surprisingly for a 60Hz TV, handled 1080p/24 cadence properly, and its matte...

The BX420 only has two HDMI inputs when most of its competitors have three or four. Its color was too blue in dark areas and too red in bright areas and its screen showed brighter corners

If you don't expect the world from the entry-level Sony KDL-BX420 LCD, its picture quality may be a pleasant surprise.

Sony Bravia KDL-46BX420

The Sony KDL-46BX420 ($899 MSRP) is a decent budget buy that crams more picture performance in its 46-inch LCD screen than many others do in higher-priced models. You will sacrifice a bit in the way of connectivity options, but overall this TV is not a...

Overall, the Sony KDL-46BX420 ($899 MSRP) isn’t a bad television set. Not only does it have great picture performance, but it isn’t overly-complicated by features that would probably never get used, or only serve as a frustration. The lack of input...

Sony KDL-46BX420 Review – 46-inch LCD HDTV

Although you will get a reasonably large display size of 46 inches in this TV, you will have to forego the desire of watching in 3D or accessing Internet TV. You will only get a basic TV if you buy this set but with a good enough display size and...

With the government regulations getting more stringent, all manufacturers are trying to minimize the energy consumption with every passing year. Along with the regular technology for decreasing energy consumption, this set also has the Light Sensor...

"On sale for $600,beautiful picture, only 60 Hz refresh."

I am satisfied with this TV, Great Value.

Picture quality is comparable to TVs twice the price.

Onboard sound is poor.

"Better than expected."

For the money its a great buy. Dont expect the world. Which if your buying a 46 inch tv and are looking to pay this price, you should already know this. If not for my Blue ray player, I would have paid an extra 100 - 300 for all the extra internet...

Price. Bravia Sync means an automatic single remote for my Sony Blueray, Sony 5.1, and Sony TV, no need for codes. All buttons and menus work with one remote. Blueray has all the extras (Netflix, Hulu, etc) so no need for a full feature TV set.

Sound is almost non existent. Way too low and no definition at all. I get no bass.

Good Picture Straight On!!

Bought this TV almost a year ago. I have 2 other sony LCDs and they are fine. This one has a great picture, after putting in on Vivid and adjusting some settings. Just one BIG problem: off angle viewing is the worst I've ever experienced. Even a slight...
