Sony Bravia NSX-GT1 series (Google TV) review:

Aside from actually hooking a PC to your TV, Sony's Internet TV with Google TV , aka the NSX -GT1 series, is the closest you'll likely come today to converging the two devices. That's both an advantage and a disadvantage compared with more conventional...

Integrated TV and Google TV software enables potential access to virtually all video sources media through one interface and search bar; full Chrome browser supports Flash and HTML5 video; includes RF QWERTY remote; built-in Wi-Fi; user interface...

Poor screen uniformity apparent with many Google TV sources; produces light black levels; some flashing in shadows at times; frustrating touch pad and overlarge keyboard on remote; sparse analog connectivity; major content providers like Hulu, CBS, and...

Easily the most capable Internet-connected TV ever made, Sony's NSX-GT1 series calls for a tech-savvy buyer who can live with Google TV's growing pains, a touchy remote, and so-so picture quality.

"AVOID SONY TVs!"

After the warranty expires, you'll be quickly disappointed and disgusted.

Nothing special about this TV.

My NSX-40GT1 stopped working after 18 months. Wouldn't turn on - red light blinking. Sony warranty expires after 12 months. Not a coincidence.

"Now at Android 3.2 easily the most fantastic TV owned"

As with all Google TV products of the first wave they suffered from late arrival of Android platform advancements. Things began happening late 2011 with the arrival of Android 3.1. Now at 3.2 this TV is just fantastic. Google Play. Developer support. A...

Design.

Unfortunately early reviews scared people off and firmware arrived late so sales suferred. That is a real pity for a TV set that is just fantastic now with Android 3.2

"Was possibly a great idea, but horribly implemented."

This is a failure of a TV. While it does display a good picture, that, uhm, is actually all the good I can say about it. Netflix needs to be constantly reset to work correctly. Sometimes twice in the same day. And now for the MAJOR issue. Input Lag....

Displays good picture. That's about it.

Netflix only works occasionally

If I could rate this BELOW 1 star I would.

Save your money and buy a more dependable brand.Stopped working after 3 months. Just because it has the word sony on the front means nothing. It has been a thorn in our side, and after reading numerous forums, its proven that way for ALOT of people....

good picture, smooth surfing

turns itself off randomly weekly. have to reboot it. Sony customer support not helpful in the matter. constantly resets itself Has affected ALOT of sony customers.

picture great, apps terrible.

Needs lots more apps, especially apps that really work. A few apps DO work well and are very enjoyable, such as the virtual fireplace and 'classic'tv. Some Video streaming apps are great, others are terrible, like crackle. (videos just stop after a few...

Love it as a regular tv, love the picture and google tv app on my android for controlling the tv. Internet access is fast and set up was very easy and quick. You need good bandwidth. Style is very sleek and thin, despite being a pretty heavy tv.

Complicated tv, doesn't even come with a printed user manual, comes with a brief overview only but does come with a 50 page booklet on regulations. Priorities? Some apps that come with the tv freeze constantly. Will not work with kindle for android.

Tv would be 4 stars if the wifi worked properly.

TV worked great for 4 weeks then I had a wifi issue would not connect to my router. Called Sony 3 times got to level 3 customer care just for them to tell me that my router was no good, bought a new router still have the same issue can not connect to...

TV has a great picture and the remote is awesome. The apps and usb ports give you lots of option to play movies and hook up other devices.

The wifi does not work properly can not use the apps on TV.
