Sony KDL-40NX723 review

3D TV more or less justifies its price tag with killer picture performance

Attractive design ; Excellent 2D and 3D pictures ; Extensive connected content ; Intuitive operating system ; Detailed picture tweaks

Extra cost for glasses and Skype camera ; Frustrating internet browser ; MotionFlow picture artefacts ; Relatively expensive

Sony's vast 2011 range of Bravia LCD TVs contains something for everyone, from affordable no-frills sets all the way up to premium screens with more fancy functionality than you'll probably ever use.

Sony KDL-40NX723

Designer looks meet impressive 2D pictures but flawed 3D ones in Sony's latest 40in TV.

Impressive 2D pictures, Elegant design, Excellent online services

It’s expensive, Extremely bad 3D images, Fiddly operating system

Good-looking, long spec-list, motion-handling and detail levels are among the best

Only displays meaningful contrast under duress, sounds truly horrible

Undermined by one significant flaw, this Sony’s nothing like as good as it could be

The stunning design and excellent connectivity makes the KDL40NX713 one of the best high-end TVs we’ve seen, but image quality can’t match cheaper plasma sets

Great to be able to rent films from Sony one at a time unlike Lovefilms who make you committ. Also YouTube and Mubi are excelent value. Hope Sony will be doing a deal with other chanels like they have with BBC iPlayer ; The other great thing is to be...

1.Very poor information as to how to view photos and videos on the TV. Long conversations with Sony regarding Servio, a computer streaming program. Still very clumsy ; 2.The Wi-FI Direct Mode does not work with any of my Apple Products, that includes,...

sound on the tv set itself is not good. that is why it comes with a sound bar stand, which gives pretty good sound reproduction. but i did not like the way the screen slopes away at quite an angle. so have fixed it on the alternative stand & brought a...

SONY Bravia KDL-40NX723

Good picture quality, especially the HD, useful connections and good freeview. Good internet facilities and excellent power consumption

viewing angles could be better, also some operations for auxilary operations are a little confusing and the instructions could be clearer
