Sony Bravia KDL-EX523

The Sony EX523 series produces a solid though workmanlike picture at a price that competes well against similarly featured LED TVs.

The Sony KDL-EX523 series is relatively inexpensive for an LED-based LCD TV. It delivered decent black-level depth and very good video processing, including the ability to handle 1080p/24 sources. Its cinema preset provides decently accurate pictures...

The Sony television exhibits murky shadow detail and blue tinge in dark areas. Uniformity is a problem with large gray splotches across black screens

Sony Bravia KDL-32EX523

The Sony Bravia KDL-32EX523 ($749 MSRP) is among the least expensive LED-edgelit LCD televisions from Sony this year, yet its impressive blend of features and performance was enough to catch our attention. Those with a critical eye may take exception...

The Sony Bravia KDL-32EX523 ($749 MSRP) offers a lot for a TV that’s positioned closer to the entry-level end of the spectrum. Along with the EX520 series, the EX523 series is the cheapest LED-edgelit LCD that Sony offers. Yet it packs in built-in WiFi...

Sony Bravia KDL-46EX523 – good quality for its price

When it comes to TVs, Sony has always priced their products at a higher price as compared to the rivals but they also produce high quality and value conscious models. Hence, the bigger price tag isn't something to complain about. Sony Bravia...

Sony Bravia KDL-32EX523 – works better in bright rooms

Sony Bravia KDL-32EX523 is a TV having solid performance and the price quality is quite good for the price that it is offered for. This panel will compete well against the LED TVs having similar features in the market. The connectivity options on the...

Sony KDL-40EX523 review

A stylish, understated design, warm colours and bright pictures don't make up for the 40-inch Sony KDL-40EX523's slightly below-par contrast performance and paucity of Internet apps.

Warm colours ; Bright pictures ; Neat Scenes feature ; Stylish design

Picture contrast could be better ; Motion blur ; Uneven backlighting

There's plenty of competition at this price for cheaper LED TVs that don't have 3D support. Unfortunately, we don't think the 40EX523 does quite enough to win this battle.

Sony 32-EX523 review

For this review we tested the 32in model in the EX523 range, but it's also available in a 40in screen size (KDL-40EX523). That model has identical specifications except for its dimensions and power usage. We're confident that image quality will be...

"Nice features but some design flaws"

I just got this TV a couple of days ago, and I'm relieved it was not obviously defective out of the box (the last 3 times I purchased a Sony T.V. they were defective on arrival; 2 I returned and the 3rd I just kept because it was 90lbs and I had just...

Nice picture quality. Decent built in speakers. Built in WiFi.

Emits high pitched buzzing sound, even when turned off.
