SD images (non-high def) are not the greatest, but I think the same can be said for just about any LCD TV. Popping sounds when changing channels on my Direct TV receiver (when it switches from 1080 to 720 or 480) is annoying

Exceeded My Expectations!

 

This is a great television! Sony deserves credit for the well thought out design with all the features people need or may use in the future. In my opinion, the small feature that put it over the top was the BRAVIA Sync. In the past, featutes like this...

Perfect size. Resonable price. Extremely smooth motion. Nice design. Good menu interface. 1080p/24 capable. Input labeling. Crisp whites. Good color and contrast. RCA type audio outputs. Firmware upgradeable. BRAVIA Sync! (See below)

The sound from this set is loud and clear. However, there is a little bit of static and distortion at extremely low volume levels. It is only noticable when the volume is set to around 1-3 and you are listening in dead silence. No big deal
