Sony Bravia KDL40W5810 LCD TV review

Sony jumps into Freesat TV with a feature-laden LCD screen

Superb black levels ; No really obvious image problems ; Copes well with poor-quality sources

Not the most spectacular HD pics ; Can't record Freesat HD channels ; Dearth of content on AppliCast online service

Impressive, if slightly pricey 32-inch Freesat TV with web widgets

Colour naturalism ; Smooth motion ; Xross user system

Slightly weak black levels ; So-so styling

Sony Bravia KDL-37W5810 review

Sony's KDL-37W5810 might seem overpriced compared to other 37in TVs, but you get an integrated Freesat HD tuner and a network port. Sony has also included a media streaming client, allowing you to access movies, photos and music on your home network.

Excellent picture quality, integrated Freesat HD and media streaming are the KDL-37W5810's strong points, but the price is uncompetitive.

Sony Bravia KDL-40W5810 review

What do you get when you combine Freesat with a Sony Bravia? The KDL-40W5810, that's what. The ambitious satellite service joins plenty of other digital goodies inside this shiny black beast, and we find out how they all get along in our Sony Bravia...

Great pictures from all sources, a reasonable price and added Freesat goodness

Slightly frumpy looks, and the frustratingly throttled Applicast

A great way to get Full HD TV without handing over your cash to Mr Murdoch

Another accomplished LCD from Sony with the added convenience of built-in Freesat ..

Motion handling ability, Colour

Benefits of 100Hz do not convince

In the KDL-32W5810, Sony have produced another excellent all round performer. The added convenience of the Freesat tuner will be a huge bonus for those who are planning to access the service and with various suppliers discounting heavily it is also...

Sony Bravia KDL-46W5810 46in LCD TV

The menu system's a bit of a mess, but impressive levels of detail certainly show Freesat HD content at its best.

An untidy menu system isn't the worst sin that an HD TV can commit, and the image quality of the KDL-46W5810 more than made up for that minor lapse. It may not have a top-of-the-range spec, but the fine detail that it captures in HD images means that...
