Sony KDL-50EX645

When choosing an HDTV, picture quality is the most important factor, and an excess of features can't make up for a screen that's not up to snuff. Sony's EX645 series of LED-lit LCD HDTVs offer up integrated Wi-Fi and plenty of online functions, but the...

Integrated Wi-Fi. Plenty of streaming apps and online features, including a Web browser

Disappointing black levels. Slightly skewed colors. Few calibration options

Despite plenty of online features for a fair price, Sony's EX645 series of LED-backlit HDTVs suffer from mediocre black levels and color accuracy issues.

Sony KDL-46EX645

When it comes to buying a TV, no matter how attractive the shiny flagship models may be, it usually makes the most sense to buy the midrange products. While you'd naturally assume that the more advanced models have better picture quality, this isn't...

The relatively affordable Sony EX645 offers deep-enough black levels for the money and commendable color saturation. The design is attractive and the menu system is easy to use.

We detected a couple of uniformity issues, black areas can look blue under lights, and shadow detail isn't up there with the better TVs. The SEN portion of the Smart TV interface is so slow that it's kind of a waste.

Sony has upgraded its EX645 series TV with onboard wireless providing even better value given its predecessor's already solid picture quality.

Sony's upgraded KDL-46EX645 is an affordable 46-inch LED HDTV that provides good picture quality, an attractive design and an easy-to-use menu system. It also has on-board wireless connectivity, but the display does have some uniformity issues.<p

None. None. None.

Picture dies after only a few months of ownership and Sony or the retailer will do nothing about it.

None but because there is a 10 character minimum, the picture was nice while it lasted (not long)

Picture dies after just a few months of ownership and Sony or the retailer will do nothing about it.

"WARNING-THIS IS NOT THE SAME GREAT SONY COMPANY ANYMORE"

Other brands are true Smart TVS.

It is not terribly heavy weight wise...

If you are looking for a SMART TV do NOT buy Sony! A technician told the truth and said "ALL Sony TVs are not true SMART TVs. You will not be able to view many web pages. We are taking it back. Email me shuffleboard(at)ymail.com for more details.

Great Buy

While I really enjoy the Quality of the Picture, the SEN, sometime takes too long and Buffers a lot. I can pull NETFLIX off my XBOX quicker. But I got this for the Picture Quality and Watching Football. So the Action is Great and there's no slow motion...

Excellent Picture Quality
