Our sony had a great picture and was a pleasure to watch. however, it is 2 1/2 yrs old and we have had it serviced 4 times. Yesterday, the picture "blew again". Repair service company is honest and reputable and has made repeated attempts to repair....

To accomplish this, Sony increased the focal length of the electron gun by 30%. Sony's exclusive Aperture Grille allows the electron beam to hit the screen in continuous vertical stripes, providing sharper and brighter, more detailed image. Digital Comb Filter Automatically processes the incoming signal with digital circuitry for best picture with minimum dot-crawl distortion. CRT Amplifier provides better high frequency response in black levels for darker, more definitive lines at the higher end of the video spectrum. Velocity Modulation Scanning Sharpens picture definition by varying the beam scanning rate to give every object a sharp, clean edge. Magnetic Quadra Pole Reduces beam spot distortion and improves corner-to-corner focus, as well as picture sharpness. Auto Channel Programming Automatically locks active channels in memory for scan-tuning convenience - also allows for manual Channel Add/Erase. Freeze Memo Allows viewer to freeze what's on-screen and view it in the PIP window, while programming continues on the main screen. XDS (Extended Data Service) Receives new information services that some broadcasters are adding to their signals, including time, station call letters, and programming information (where available). Channel Block blocks viewing of two preset channels for up to 12 hours.
