Top LED picture of 2012, but a poor value

Although it's priced higher and performs worse than the best plasmas, the Sony XBR-HX950 is still one of the top-performing LED TVs ever.

The Sony XBR-HX950 series produces deeper black levels than any current LCD or plasma TV, giving excellent overall picture quality. It evinces accurate color, offers plenty of video-processing options, and can properly handle 1080p/24 sources. It also...

The extremely expensive XBR-HX950 shows some blooming artifacts, and its picture deteriorates more noticeably than usual when seen from off-angle. Its menu and Internet service design is lackluster, and Sony does not include 3D glasses. When displaying...

Sony Bravia XBR

Overall, the Sony XBR-55HX950 is an excellent TV for 3D viewing. It offers lifelike colors and smooth, fluid motion that make it the best 3D TV with active 3D technology. Plus, with the slim profile, you can easily mount it on your wall or use the...

The Sony XBR-55HX950 has a fantastic contrast ratio and an extended warranty

You'll have to purchase your active 3D glasses separately

Because of the sharp contrast and the anti-glare Corning Gorilla Glass, this TV will give you an amazing viewing experience.

"do your research before buy any Sony product"

After 2.5 (good!) years using my XBR top of the line overpriced TV one board went faulty. Call Sony USA tech support, spent 6 hours and this went nowhere. Sent email - no replyes. I used to love Sony, had TV,VSR, audio,etc.. Wanted to buy

Very nice TV/picture/audio WHILE working

unreliable, no support from Sony, they know about problem but decided do nothing about it. Not same Sony as we used to know.

"Excellent LED Great black levels"

Excellent PQ. This may be the last full array local dimming set manufactured. Hoping this set lasts @least 10 yrs. by then 4 K should be reasonable priced. Excellent motion handling for fast paced sports. No blooming, flashlighting or DSE on my set....

Gorilla Glass, thin profile looks nice on wall when turned off. Excellent PQ. Inky blacks

Price- should be a $2700 set

"A Winning Combination of Technology and Quality"

I have owned several high def TVs including a Pioneer Elite and several Samsungs. This TV outperforms them all. While Samsung tend to lead with innovation I have found their sets lacking the quality of construction compared to this Sony. Both the fit...

Incredible inky deep colors with great clarity

The *Best* LED TV ever made

This is the best LED TV ever made. I work in a big box store and sell TV's all day. This XBR HX 950 and the Panasonic VT50 are the best TV's on the market.

Exceptional Quality

I purchased this TV from Sony early October and have been very pleased since. Over all quality and experience have been outstanding. There are some issues with the boot up time of certain applications. It would be nice for the kids to just press the...

The best in class Feb 2013

A large investment - yes. But like any large investment, the last thing you want is to ask after a few weeks - "Maybe i should have paid more for a better one". This is something which is going to last years until the 4K TV is standard and we have...
