The 200Hz mode might draw you in, but can this LG set's performance keep you in thrall?
Capable and assured picture. Good spec, including 200Hz. Stylish. Decent value for money
Perhaps could do better with black levels - but this is a minor quibble

For a set that all but disappears if you look at it side, on, this Sammy packs some serious tech. But how phat is its performance?
Super-slim good looks. High spec. Effective LED backlighting. Composed pictures from all sources
Unpleasant remote. Wireless dongle costs extra. Ropey broadcasts look... well... ropey

Costing a cool £600 more than the next set down in the range, we're expecting special things from this Z series. Show us what you can do, Sony...
Builds on the already-impressive 'W4500 to create the best picture of any 46in TV we have yet seen
The individual improvements aren't as dramatic as £600 might suggest

Unbeatable combination of deep blacks and punchy whites. Stunning detail, particularly with Blu-ray. Excellent motion
It needs care in calibration to truly impress
