Very attractive price. Good grayscale tracking. Pretty good image quality overall, subjectively speaking.

Somewhat large chassis. Poor uniformity compared with other panel technologies. Lacks an ATSC tuner or CableCARD support. Poor vertical viewing angle.

With a street price just over $2,000, the Syntax Olevia LCT50HV is a pretty good value for a 50-inch rear-projection TV. Take a look, but be aware that there are better models on the market.
