While it may be the biggest TV brand in China, TCL is still not very well-known in America. Here it's one of those cheap LCD brands that fill the last few pages of the Best Buy catalogs along with the Haiers and Westinghouses.

The incredibly inexpensive TCL L40FHDP60 40-inch LCD TV offers deeper blacks and better shadow detail than I expect at this price. Colors are bold and well-saturated. The TV boasts decent off-axis viewing and its picture holds up well in a bright room.

Colors have a blue tinge that cannot be cured by the paltry adjustments possible. Some shadow detail can become crushed and the TV's brightness isn't uniform across its screen.

Entirely acceptable picture quality makes the TCL L40FHDP60 a dirt-cheap LCD TV done right.

The TCL L40FHDP60 is not exactly the king of the LCD TV mountain, but if you are concerned about economy, this television will meet those needs. You may have to work around the screen-blanking glitch, and the screen is likely to show a lot of motion...

This thin-screened television is an economical alternative to the top-rated products

The screen is known to black out periodically when using an HDMI input

This television looks all right, but it has a reputation for being unreliable.

This is a good product for a very resonable cost.

 

This tv offers a decent HD picture and good sound. It has two HDMI inputs, as well as several other standard inputs. It has features and quality that I would expect on a more costly televison. So far, I am very pleased.
