Toshiba 22BV501B review

Toshiba's BV501 TV range is the biggest selling in Britain

Pictures look bright and colourful ; The remote control is unusually good ; USB multimedia playback is much appreciated

Dark scenes are blighted by an annoying backlight 'hot spot ; Viewing angle is very limited ; Sound is flimsy

If you just want a very cheap and very bright TV for casual use, then the 22BV501 is almost uniquely well qualified. Its quality at times, with bright footage, is really quite remarkable for £140.

Toshiba 22BV501B

I bought this for my 80 year old father-in-law who says how easy to use it is - and he is king of the technically inept ; Picture and sound quality are all you could want

Only one scart socket and when the remote was mislaid it was only then we realised there appears to be no facility to change channels on the t.v. itself only to alter volume
