Toshiba Regza SL (40SL753) review

The 40-inch Toshiba Regza 40SL753 is not a bad mid-range TV. The price is low enough to make it a decent purchase for those who aren't bothered about the best possible picture.

Decent price ; Picture is good, but not great

Not that beautiful ; Sound isn't very detailed

We found the Toshiba Regza 40SL753 to be a pretty decent set all round. It's a reasonable price for a 40-inch TV, but it's not a complete bargain, and you might find an LG set that offers more features for less money. Still, there's nothing here that...

Toshiba Regza SL (32SL753B) review

With a touch of tweaking, the 32-inch Toshiba Regza 32SL753B is capable of producing some great-looking pictures from both SD and HD material. Sadly, the set suffers from very slow channel changes and fussy media-streaming features.

Good contrast performance ; Vivid colours ; Sharp HD and SD pictures

Slow channel changes ; Weedy sound

The Toshiba Regza 32SL753 is an attractive set that's capable of producing some great-looking pictures thanks to its impressive SD and HD performance. It's also relatively cheap for the range of features on offer. On the other hand, its fussy...

Toshiba Regza 40SL753

It's Toshiba's first edge LED-lit LCD TV, so is it a good one?

While we applaud Toshiba for joining LG's recent 37LE5900 in trying to make edge LED LCD TVs genuinely affordable, as with its Korean rival, the 40SL753 falls prey to one or two significant performance weaknesses.

Toshiba Regza SL (46SL753B) review

The Toshiba Regza 46SL753B manages well with HD video from Blu-ray discs, but Freeview HD material suffers from a distinct lack of detail, and we weren't sold on the TV's sound quality either. It's a good TV if you want a set for gaming and watching HD...

Good Blu-ray picture quality ; Highly configurable ; Bright and colourful images

Freeview HD material doesn't look as good as we hoped it would ; Sound isn't very impressive ; Not much in the way of media-playback support

Conclusion Although the Toshiba Regza 46SL753B does a great job with Blu-ray video, we weren't blown away by its Freeview HD performance. BBC HD looked less than perfect during our tests of some World Cup matches and other material looked much less...

Bloody great!

Oh I love my new telly. It is gigantic, black and shiny. It has a beautiful, bright, sharp picture. It looks amazing in my new den. What else is there to say??? Hmmmm. Well, this works great for normal TV. It is even better for playing Blu Ray through....

Very good

Excellent tv and perfect picture quality. Sound seems a bit flat and can improve. Not as thin as most LED's but this tv was excellent value for money (£625 for LED 100 hz). I'm extremely happy with this TV.
