Toshiba 40BL702B review

If neither smart TV, 3D or Freeview HD are on your shopping list, Toshiba's simple Edge LED-backlit Full HD TV could fill a need.

Connectivity ; Blu-ray image quality ; Tactile remote control ; Digital file handling

Lacks HD digital channels ; Clunky Freeview EPG ; Crushed black levels ; Some LED light leakage ; Motion blur

Toshiba's 40RL953 is marginally more impressive (and expensive) and includes both Toshiba Places (the brand's smart TV platform) and a Freeview HD tuner.

LCD TV (Not LED)

TV is edge lit LED which is misleading as I thought I was buying and LED TV when it is actually a LCD TV. I am though very happy with the TV. The picture and sound are good.
