Toshiba 40E210U

The Toshiba 40E210U ($599 MSRP) is the entry-level model in Toshiba's 40-49" line-up of LCDs. It certainly feels entry-level. The parts and the menu look cheap. The remote control doesn't work all that well. The performance, however, raises its profile...

Great contrast ratio and deep black levels ; Smooth color response curves

It looks and feels like a cheap TV ; Terrible audio performance from built-in speakers

Entry-level and budget TVs like the Toshiba 40E210U ($599 MSRP) are always a study in tradeoffs. You can tell immediately that it didn’t receive the care and attention to design you see in most Samsungs and Sonys. The physical components are crude. The...

Great PC Monitor. 3 Years and counting!

for the price it's a great buy according to others there are a lot of bad seeds out there guess i'm one of the lucky ones. I used the TV everyday (8+ hours average) for 2 years and now 4+ hours average every other day no problems.

Great picture, crisp and clean, I used to use the tv for my main monitor worked like a dream, now it sits next to my desk as my 3rd "movie monitor" heh

none so far, speakers are a bit wimpy but I don't really use them anyway

Stopped working

Worked for about a 7 months, then wouldn't turn on. Called Toshiba, apparently they thought my TV was new, so they sent someone out to repair it.

Looks nice, I like the Dynabright system thingy. Also hooks to the PS3 via HDMI cable.

Stopped working after about 7 months.

just quit

I just wish mine broke in time to return it!

Was a good picture while it lasted

Died out of nowhere. One day just zap, thing dies. It honestly sounds to me like they engineered a faulty product. Look at the reviews everybody who bought one has this issue looks like.

Bad service

cheap price

The whole thing is a nightmare. In order to receive this from UPS, i have to take a day off to wait for the carrier. Once i opened it, i instantly realize there was no remote, no manual, even no screw to hold it on the TV foundation. When i require a...

Great price , slick style and easy setup.

Thing just quit working on me today . Green LED light turn's on but no picture and no sound . Seems like a lot of people are having this issue so I guess I should have read some of these reviews before I got it .

Second time lucky

Just an update to my previous review. The second TV has been running strong for 4 weeks now strictly as a display for a MythTV system. Audio is handled externally. However, I didn't realize I was ultimately responsible for shipping the bad TV coast to...

Still a fine display

Even though skin tones look great, I was unable to calibrate the green drive down far enough to prevent clipping at the high end. I did not try to find any extra service menus. I also don't have any serious equipment, just using static calibration...
