Toshiba 42TL515U

Toshiba TL515U series information: The review of the 42-inch 42TL515U is based on our experience with the 55-inch 55TL515U television. Our observations also apply to the 32-inch 32TL515U and the 47-inch 47TL515U. Toshiba says that the four televisions...

Terrific, sharp picture ; Better than average black level, brightness ; Excellent color with adjustment ; Passive 3D with four pairs of glasses included ; Built-in Wi-Fi ; Back-lit remote

Significant light bleeding around edges ; Poor onboard sound ; Finicky contrast

The Toshiba 42TL515U provides a great picture and 3D in a cheap, user-friendly, super-slim package, with a nice, big screen.

Had to RMA because of defects, but...

It basically arrived like a piece of junk that you would buy from a thrift store for 30 bucks. Arrived in a blank, brown, ups box which had a crease in it too. Did not come in a Toshiba OEM box. Worst part is nowhere on the box did it say "fragile" and...

Amazing looking screen when watching movies or playing video games. Dark colors are very dark and black is jet black, not dark grey like on LCD's. The image this tv produces is very crisp and clear and high-def when using it for movies and video games...

Where to start? The front bezel that the screen is attached to is coming away from the backing at the top which produced about a 1/2 inch gap which is about 4 inches long and a real sight for sore eyes. This alone should have been a reason to not ship...

Dead in 6 Months

There is nothing good about a product that costs significant hundreds of dollars and dies in 6 months.

It doesn't matter. The picture is gone six months after purchase

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

Short side of a much longer and troubled experience: This is my second TV. First one was returned to Newegg for similar problems (screen would randomly dim/shut off/unresponsive) My second TV has almost the same problems, but doesn't randomly become...

Cheap 3D ; Decent color - no where near my plasma I bought back in 2005 ; Energy efficient (kinda) (other models at this size use less electricity)

Takes 20 seconds to turn on ; Input switching is delayed (when starting xbox 360, you never see the 360 logo, starts up right on the dashboard) ; TV randomly turns off, this is an ongoing problem with these TVs, just do some research. Toshiba also...
