Toshiba 55" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV 55HT1U

I bought this for the bedroom because it was a very inexpensive TV with a great picture, and it serves its purpose perfectly. Buy some speakers, and maybe a better remote, and you'll be okay.

Great screen for the dollar

Sound is the worst I've ever heard on a TV. I read several reviews prior to purchase and had already ordered external speakers. But before hooking them up I had to try out the stock speakers. The highs and voice sound like they're coming from a laptop,...

Excellent picture, issue with sound

Most folks won't care about the audio problem I have, and for this price, stereo-only is not so bad. I have full-size speakers, so I get plenty of "rumble" with the explosions, anyway, and surround sound is a little bit of a gimmick, so what the heck?

Excellent picture for the price with impressive options for adjusting. Plenty of HDMI inputs (3, not 2 as someone noted... look on the side for the 3rd)

Remote works if you point it directly at the "eye" only. Biggest problem is the picture delay. The video is delayed some due to the processing. So if you have the sound coming out of the source directly into your surround sound amp, the sound comes out...

Would go bigger if I could...

I downsized from a 62 inch and missed the larger screen, but I raised the TV a little higher and I'm happier now...

Wonderful picture...GREAT price... I now own 4 Toshiba HDTV's 26 & 32 w/DVD, 37 & now 55 and have NO problems(still added extended warranties for them) I have mine sitting on the base and it seems very stable. The sound seems better than I thought it...

AIT shipping is NOT UPS, I had to go pick up TV from the shipper's warehouse in order not have to wait 4 more days... I guess you get what you pay for

Great TV for a great price

Be warned: 55 inches is a BIG TV. It may not look like it in a store (if you do like I did and haunt the local electronics stores to compare pictures, you'll start thinking that 55" isn't so big. It is.) But, if you've got a big wall and a big room,...

After several weeks of research, and debating between various manufacturers and sizes (from 42" to 55"), I decided to take the plunge with a 55" when this TV dipped to $969. So far, I'm glad I did. I say "so far" because I'm only hooked up to basic...

The thing that stuck out to me was this: the stand that comes with the TV seems awfully flimsy. It's a nice big base, but there are only four little screws designed to hold this monster on that base, and it's a darn heavy TV. (Fortunately, I mounted...

Good bang for the buck

Great picture for the price. There are some features lacking from my Sony. There are only 3 HDMIs, which I can live with, but not 4. There is no S-Video, which some may not care about. The composite video (Yellow-Red-White) is on the back, not on the...

Good value

This is a large screen at a good price with no frills. The TV itself is reasonably attractive, and the picture quality seems good -- colors seem accurate, and blacks are consistent across the screen. Not a lot of connections (if you have an A/V...

Big Screen ; Good Picture ; Consistent Black levels ; Inexpensive for the size

Two HDMI inputs ; No special features

Super Nice TV

Buy it.. you'll love it. Just make sure it won't be too big if you have a smaller room. Definitely connect it to a home theater system.

Bought this TV at your local Blue electronics store for $999 plus tax. I've been really happy with it. I do miss PIP but for this price, it'd be hard to find anything close to this TV. It is a huge TV, might be too big for some living rooms. You'll...

No PIP, Speakers are terrible but they usually are. I have mine connected to a fairly high end Yamaha surround system so that's not an issue for me. There also does seem to be a slight audio lag between the TV and the surround but you can usually...
