I love it, best TV in price range

 

This review is of the Toshiba 65HX81 which is one of the two models (the other being the 65H81) that replaced the 65H80 in late 2001.

Great picture, awesome internal line doubler, stretch modes

oh how prices drop

 

I paid a lot more than the quoted $1800.00 about 1 year ago, but am completely happy with this TV. It has several preset picture sizes that you can chose from, this comes in handy with the variety of aspect ratios that are out there (16:9 and 4:3)....

Picture, PIP Functions, Composite Inputs, Color Control, Did I say the Picture is awesome?

assumption logic within the Close Captions Routine, integrated sound system is useless.

Right for mid-size living room

 

I purchased the Toshiba 50HX81 after comparing mainly to Mitsubishi units. One of the main reasons for buying the Toshiba was I felt its stretch algorithm for playing standard TV was better than the comparative Mitsu unit. Overall the Toshiba is easy...

Mitsubishi Diamond, Sony XBR and Pioneer Elite...You have "unwanted" company..

 

Pioneer PRO520HD, Sony 57XBR2, and Mitsubishi WS55909 look out. Someone is definitely invading your turf and flying in your airspace. It's the Toshiba 57HX81 and its wreaking havoc in many ways. First of all, it has one of the best, (if not the best) ...

Excellent HD choice

 

I just purchased this set and it is great. The color depth and clarity is excellent due to the upgraded lense system of the cinema series. I watch HD television over the Dish Network through the Echostar 6000 HD receiver and this set produces crystal...
