Toshiba 46SL417U

Excellent energy efficiency. Integrated Wi-fi. Plenty of Web apps

Mediocre black levels. Colors distort slightly when the screen is viewed from an even a slight angle. Menus are dense

Its picture isn't perfect, but the Toshiba 46SL417U is a feature-packed, energy-efficient 47-inch LED-backlit HDTV that comes at a very fair price.

Toshiba 46SL417U

Toshiba SL417U series information: This review is based on our hands-on experience with the 46-inch 46SL417U TV. However, our observations also apply to the two other sizes in Toshiba's SL417U series of LED TVs, including the 42-inch 42SL417U and...

Excellent picture and response time ; Thin, attractive bezel ; Built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet ; Full suite of Internet apps and widgets

Very poor sound quality ; Media player slow to load content ; Slow user interface ; No backlighting in remote

The Toshiba 46SL417U looks great on paper and presents a terrific image, but its drawbacks keep it from truly fulfilling its value proposition.

Toshiba 46

This Toshiba compares favorably with the Visio I have. The Vizio s a bit smoother for sports and action. The Toshiba, as a bed room TV is very good. We are enjoying it and appreciate the quality.

This TV installed and set up very easily. Once in operation tweeking from the remote is easy. Picture quality is very good

The sound is adequate without being exceptional. I have not added any sound enhancement to the unit. I have added surround sound to my other TV

Nice tv, bad firmware

The TV is very nice picture wise, and very slim. Also it use very little energy

The TV will freeze up and not respond to the remote or key pad. I have to regularly unplug it to allow it to reset in order to use the remote again. Very annoying when you get done watching a bluray or playing a game and the tv remotes not working so...

An altogether excellent television!

Fast shipping. I love newegg always and forever.

This is a great set. First off, I got it at a steal from newegg- $545, what an awesome price. Set is really a beauty and the pics dont do it justice. The bezel is super thin, stand is tasteful, and its just plain pretty. Picture quality is excellent,...

Remote is a tad confusing, but I use a logitech harmony with it in lieu of the original. Also, sound is soso, but as the reviewers said, what can you expect with something so thin

Crisp like Corn Flakes

Newegg was great as usual. Add some speakers and a boxee and you've got gold.

Having Netflix/Vudu/ect. built in is great, it almost takes place of a dedicated streaming box (more on that later). The picture is very crisp and fluid, it even makes non-HD sources look good. As far as I can tell the panel as pretty accurate as...

The speakers are terrible on this, but with a price this low and a profile this thin I wasn't expecting anything great. It is kind of acceptable for watching things with just dialogue, but any music really shows how poor they are. Definitely don't...

Good TV - If you have external audio

i believe that the firmware upgrade was necessary in order to get the settings to stick. It was a wonderful relief to have a unit which had no problems handling 1080p signals after nearly going crazy dealing with another brand which would lose the...

Good sharp picture once color is adjusted. Lots of HDMI inputs

Horrible internal speakers - they must use the same speakers found in laptops. It is not really usable without an external amp which can handle the optical audio output of the unit. i also needed to disable the ambient light adjustment to keep the...
