Toshiba 46SL417U

The ability to stream Netflix and other Internet sources , as well as the thin profile imparted by its edge-lit LED backlight , mark the Toshiba SL417U as a midrange HDTV these days. In its favor this set demands relatively little cash for those...

The Toshiba SL417U evinced relatively deep black levels in dark scenes and very good video processing. Its matte screen works well in bright rooms. Its Internet suite includes built-in Wi-Fi.

The SL471U's backlight fluctuated more than usual, causing black levels to vary depending on scene content. Colors were less accurate and lacked saturation. Its screen is brighter on the edges and the picture loses fidelity from off-angle worse than...

Albeit one of the least expensive Internet-capable LED TVs available, the Toshiba SL417U lags behind most of its competitors in terms of performance.

Toshiba 46SL417U

Toshiba SL417U series information: This review is based on our hands-on experience with the 46-inch 46SL417U TV. However, our observations also apply to the two other sizes in Toshiba's SL417U series of LED TVs, including the 42-inch 42SL417U and...

Excellent picture and response time ; Thin, attractive bezel ; Built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet ; Full suite of Internet apps and widgets

Very poor sound quality ; Media player slow to load content ; Slow user interface ; No backlighting in remote

The Toshiba 46SL417U looks great on paper and presents a terrific image, but its drawbacks keep it from truly fulfilling its value proposition.

"WORST TELEVISON I HAVE EVER OWNED!!"

Ordered this TV NEW- took 45 minutes to boot up when first plugged in and then averaged 5 minutes each time I turned it on. It worked 3 days and then all I get is a green light blinking 3 times and then repeating on the front panel. TV is dead...

I CAN FIND NO GOOD POINTS TO THIS TV.

Worked for 3 days then died. Toshiba support hangs up on me or is rude and condesending. Worst customer service I have ever experienced- they even told me they did not care whether I ever got the TV fixed or not.

"t.v. has a lot of really cool features."

Mostly it's a cool t.v. because it can be connected to my computer and it doe's have a good picture and it's adjustable to lighting conditions. Just plan on shelling out more money for speakers. Shame on Toshiba for cheaping out on the sound system!

I can make a wireless connection from the t.v. to my computer and watch programs on my t.v. I can adjust the lighting on the t.v. to fit the lighting conditions in the room I have it in. It has a good picture quality.

SPEAKERS AND SOUND QUALITY SUCK BIG TIME! Now I have to find speakers for under $100.00 that is compatible with this t.v.'s electronics. My cheap computer speakers (20.00) have better quality than this t.v. will ever hope to have.

Toshiba 46

This Toshiba compares favorably with the Visio I have. The Vizio s a bit smoother for sports and action. The Toshiba, as a bed room TV is very good. We are enjoying it and appreciate the quality.

This TV installed and set up very easily. Once in operation tweeking from the remote is easy. Picture quality is very good

The sound is adequate without being exceptional. I have not added any sound enhancement to the unit. I have added surround sound to my other TV

Nice tv, bad firmware

The TV is very nice picture wise, and very slim. Also it use very little energy

The TV will freeze up and not respond to the remote or key pad. I have to regularly unplug it to allow it to reset in order to use the remote again. Very annoying when you get done watching a bluray or playing a game and the tv remotes not working so...
