Toshiba Regza 42RV635D 42in LCD TV

Does the Toshiba 42RV635D LCD TV strike a perfect balance between power consumption and picture quality?

The 42RV635D's brightness is only reckoned to be 450cd/m2 versus the 500cd/m2 of the 37AV635D, a reflection, perhaps, of the RV series' Eco Panel design. But I wouldn't expect this to be a problem in any but the brightest of viewing rooms. In fact,...

Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB 37in LCD TV

With a generous set of features and excellent Resolution+ assisted picture quality, the 37RV635D is a decent buy.

Another string to Meta Brain's bow is Active Vision II processing, which works to improve the four key areas of the picture - contrast, colour, movement and detail. AutoView also falls under Meta Brain's jurisdiction, which analyses room lighting and...

Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB 32in LCD TV

It performs well and doesn't cost the earth - what more could you want?

While the 32RV635DB is fractionally too workmanlike a performer to make it an unreserved recommendation, I can't for the life of me think where else you could get the same level of performance for anywhere as little cash. So on that basis - its extreme...

Toshiba Regza 37RV635D review

Toshiba's 37RV635D is an LCD TV with a native Full HD resolution, but at just over £400, it's incredibly good value for a 37in model. It's a simple design, with a chunky, glossy bezel and a matching plastic plinth for a stand, and it lacks a lot of the...

A no-frills 37in TV with great image quality and a friendly EPG.

Toshiba Regza 42RV635DB review

Very good Freeview and high-definition performance really sold us on the Toshiba Regza 42RV635DB. It's sensibly priced, sports a decent screen size and is easy to use. It's an ideal TV if you want a hassle-free set that won't baffle you with options...

Reasonable price ; Good Freeview picture quality ; Decent sound ; Hi-def video and gaming performance are both very good

Resolution+ upscaling is still fairly pointless -- the TV produces a terrific picture with it turned off

If you want a solid, high-quality TV that will do justice to pretty much any kind of video you care to throw at it, this is quite possibly the TV for you. It's cheap enough to appeal to the budget-conscious and those who don't think a TV should cost as...

Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB review

The Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB is a really likeable TV for a fairly sensible price. A 1080p resolution is totally unnecessary on a 32-inch TV, but that's hardly an issue when you aren't paying through the nose for it. This TV will appeal to PlayStation 3...

Simple but pleasant design ; Good menu systems ; Easy to use ; Simple remote with large buttons ; Good picture quality ; 1080p resolution ; Four HDMI inputs ; Decent sound

There's really not much to dislike here

The picture quality is likeable, and the sound from the built-in speakers is pretty good too. In fact, there's not much about this TV that we don't like. Sure, it's not going to blow your socks off like a large-screen plasma or LED-backlit LCD might,...

Toshiba 37RV635

While the price of the 37RV635 might be enough to get you excited, the picture doesn't quite have the same effect

Price ; good spec for the money ; inoffensive picture quality

Noisy Freeview images ; Blu-ray pictures lack clarity and detail ; not confident with movement

Toshiba Regza 42RV635DB review

With treats like like the JournE Touch and NB200, it's easy to forget that Toshiba's hottest skill is churning out eyeball–friendly HD tellies. And the Toshiba Regza 42RV635DB is no exception to the usual standard expected from the gadget giant. But is...

Great pictures, good price and crammed with cool features

Basic features getting silly names: MetaBrain anyone

A great Full HD TV that you'll struggle to beat at the price

Toshiba 42RV635DB

Toshiba Regza 42RV635DB is a 42-inch Full HD LCD TV with 50,000:1 contrast ratio, AutoView, Resolution+ to improve standard definition signals, four HDMI inputs and a host of power-saving features.

Without getting all nostalgic for bunny-ear aerials and tuning TVs with screwdrivers, it’s good to find a set with an honest to goodness power switch in these virtualised times. This Regza’s visuals are bang up to date, mind, thanks to various auto...

If a TV sports a feature called AutoView, I want it to autonomously watch and report back on global warming documentaries, summarise boring footie matches and tell me what Lost is actually about, not merely adjust its brightness depending on ambient...

Marketing nonsense aside, Toshiba has carved out a nice little niche for itself with this well-priced LCD. Solid video performance and expansive stereo sound more than make up for the disappointment of having to actually watch TV yourself.

Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB

The Toshiba Regza 32RV635DB is a 32-inch Full HD (1080p) LCD television. It has a Freeview tuner, resolution enhancement, ambient light sensor, Dolby Volume, Eco Panel and four HDMI inputs. It measures just 86mm thick and weighs 12.7kg.

Toshiba isn’t one to hold a grudge. With no less than four HDMI inputs on the board, this Regza positively welcomes Blu-ray players to its audio-visual party, spewing 1080p footage into your living room with an infectious energy. It’s just the right...

Strictly speaking, you don’t really need full 1080p playback on a TV just 32 inches in size, even if you sit right next to the screen like your mum used to scold you for. Also, 100Hz scanning would have helped with occasionally jittery action sequences

A solid, well-made television for smaller rooms or gaming, the 32RV635DB is match for Sony’s and Panasonic’s image quality – as well as for Samsung’s and LG’s price point. Worth checking out.
