Toshiba 37 X 3030 D

The screen resolution has been designed for HDTV: The finest of details are rendered crisply on its 1920 x 1080 display., Its broad feature set and excellent handling are pure enjoyment., Environmentally friendly: Its low power consumption at reduced...

Colors are factory-tuned on the bluish side, which is unpleasant., A little more consistency would not have gone amiss - film playback in the 24p cinema standard format is permitted but has no optical advantage

Toshiba 37X3030 review

Our current favourite 37in LCD

Great price ; Full HD ; Looks good

Black levels slightly weak

Black levels aren't the best around but at this price its strengths far outweight its weaknesses

Toshiba 42X3030DG review

Top spec and great features poured into a budget 42-incher

Great colours ; 1080p resolution ; Attractive price ; Contrast range ; HD pictures

Some motion blurring ; Limited blacks ; Average standard-def pictures

A hugely likable set at a price that demands an audition, we can only guess at how Toshiba has managed it

Toshiba 42X3030 review

Toshiba knows it stuff when it comes to making small LCDs – but this 42-incher shows it's still got a thing or two to learn on the big screen

This would have been a decent set last year, but the competition has moved on leaving it some way off the pace

Toshiba Regza 42X3030D 42in LCD TV

Toshiba has thrown the cat among the pigeons with a very keenly priced 1080p 42in TV.

I don’t know how Toshiba keeps doing it, but once again it has created a cutting edge TV at a truly astounding price. Not only do you have a Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 panel, but you're also getting 1080p 24, 50 and 60 input support. Add to that the pair of...

Toshiba 37X3030

Those hopes are raised by the 37X3030's excellent build quality, which combines a slick glossy black bezel with emphatically angular lines to impressively 'no-nonsense' effect. Plus it's even got a couple of connections more than most, with the usual...

Toshiba 37X3030

The 37X3030 is part of Toshiba's 'step-up' new LCD range, meaning that, like Sharp's 37XD1E, it's a Full HD model. But 1920 x 1080 pixels does not necessarily make a great TV, so let's see what else it has up its sleeve

Vibrant pictures, Good sound quality

Disappointing black levels

Its Full HD speciification can't overshadow this Toshiba's unacceptable black level performance

Toshiba 42X3030D Review - 42" Regza 1080p LCD TV Test

The solution? Say hello to the Regza X series, where Toshiba's proprietary Active Vision picture processing system adorns what finally are full HD 1080p panels. Not content with this, over the coming months Toshiba will continue its onslaught on the...

1080 native resolution ; 1080p HDMI input ; 24 FPS (not tested) ; Exactscan for 1080p source on HDMI and component ; Smooth, refined colours after calibration ; Good shadow detail ; Effective deinterlacing ; 3D colour management (only if you have good...

Gamma tracking not smooth ; Mild digital noise ; Below average viewing angle ; No greyscale / gamma controls ; May need service menu calibration ; No PIP ; Unattractive EPG ; VGA supported resolution at only 1366x768
