If you're after a new screen that will let you explore the full potential of high definition at an affordable price, Toshiba's 42-inch 42X3030D should be on your shortlist -- it looks good, has a great range of picture and sound adjustments, and offers ou...
1080p compatibility; advanced picture and sound adjustments; authoritative sound; superb high-definition performance
Daunting design; limited connectivity; average standard-definition performance
Toshiba's 42X3030D is competitively priced for a 1080p large screen. There are a few technical compromises compared to the more expensive Z series, and standard-definition performance is ordinary, but high-definition image quality is outstanding
You'll have to spend more if you want the latest 100Hz technology and HDMI 1....
Toshiba's Regza 37X3030D is a 37-inch 1080p LCD that will cope with pretty much anything you throw at it -- high-definition performance is excellent and standard-def is not bad either, making it ideal for HD movies, gaming or catching up on your soaps
1080p screen; high-definition picture quality; excellent sound quality
Only two HDMI sockets; no HDMI 1.3 support
We liked the 37X3030D a lot, especially when watching high-definition material -- the addition of 1080p to the middle of the Toshiba range is an excellent sign for the future. It is only letdown slightly by its standard-definition performance
Toshiba plays the ace card with its Regza 37X3030D: it features support for a...
Usually we aren't particularly bothered about how much things cost. Not because we've got more money than sense or anything - it's just that our love of AV is such that we find ourselves reluctant to compromise on performance standards to save a few bob.
Great price, Full HD, Looks good
Black levels slightly weak
Black levels aren't the best around but at this price its strengths far outweight its weaknesses
Good TV picture is very good on both SD and Sky HD. Blacks could be better in a dark room the picture can be a bit grey but I think most LCDs are like this.
Good picture on both SD and HD
I have now had 3 of these, and each one has suffered from backlight bleeding from the top right hand corner. It may just be a bad batch but if you want my advice i'd steer clear.
Very good HD Picture, on both Blu Ray and Hd DVD, Sd picture through freeview better than average
BACKLIGHT BLEEDING
I researched and researched LCD and Plasma TVs and came to the conclusion that there is never going to be the perfect LCD TV so I took the plunge. The Toshiba 42X3030DB has received very good online reviews and the price of £879 (before using Quidco and a...
