Toshiba Regza 37XV505D television

Toshiba technology on a budget

A basic TV aside from the Full HD resolution, Toshiba has packed in just enough to provide a reasonable value way into high-def, though there are some minor problems with the picture that are hard to ignore

Toshiba 42XV505

The 42XV505DB comfortably sidesteps most of the killer flaws exhibited by some of its predecessors

Stunning, space-saving design ; Good black levels ; Rich colours

Occasional SD issues ; Poor viewing angle ; Doesn't excel in any area

It hasnt changed significantly for so many years now, and is really looking dated compared with the eye-catching interfaces now sported elsewhere. It doesnt help, either, that the menus feel cumbersome to navigate at times

Toshiba Regza 37XV505DB 37in LCD TV

More pixels for almost the same money as its low-end 37CV505DB sibling. That's got to be good, no?

Although extremely well specified for its money, the 37XV505DB’s rather undynamic pictures don’t really make the most of that specification. Which ultimately leaves us to feel that we'd rather save up for an extra couple of months to secure something a...

A Full HD set for £650? What's the catch? Turns out, there isn't one...

Compromised in places, but the Toshiba still harbours enough positives to deliver a four-star showing

Best Buy!

Toshiba Regza 37XV505D review

It's not quite as affordable as LG's 37LF75, but £650 is still a remarkable price for a 37in, 1080p TV from a major brand.

Toshiba Regza 32XV505DB 32in LCD TV

Toshiba's 32XV505DB LCD TV fits a Full HD resolution across its 32 inches, but is it worth the extra expense?

I'd thoroughly expected to find the 32XV505DB, with its Full HD pixel count, winning me over even more easily than the cheaper, HD Ready 32CV505DB. But for me, it's the CV model that's the more pleasing proposition overall - especially when you...

Toshiba Regza 42XV505DB 42in LCD TV

It's the first LCD TV from Toshiba's new XV series to take to our stage and we're hoping for a fine performance.

Toshiba's 42XV505DB is a solid TV: surprisingly affordable, with pictures that can look good and occasionally even great. But for the most part, aside from looking exceptionally cute, it just doesn't do anything truly outstanding, and as such struggles...

Toshiba Regza 37XV505D review

The Toshiba Regza 37XV505D is a strong performer, with attractive styling and a reasonable amount of features and connectivity, too. Overall, it does a great job of pretty much everything

Picture quality ; Sound quality ; Design ; Some good features

Could be cheaper ; Remote control isn't the best

In terms of competitors, we'd pit against the incredible Panasonic Viera TH-37PX80B 37-inch plasma. Still, the Tosh holds its own, and is 1080p, which it can hold over the Panasonic

Not perfect, but the Toshiba is an elegant set representing fine value for money

Pleasant design ; good stability and detail to images

Noisy Freeview picture ; ruddy colour balance ; sound lacks clarity

Toshiba comes up with the goods again - a fine-value screen if you're on a tight budget

Full HD specification ; clean, bright, crisp picture ; decent detail ; fine TV tuner

Blacks lack insight ; colour balance is a little rosy
