Toshiba 46XV555D review

A good value, super-size screen with a lot to recommend it

Decent performance ; Ease of use

Motion handling is poor ; Thin audio

Toshiba Regza 52XV555DB 52in LCD TV

If you're in the market for an affordable big TV, the Toshiba 52XV555DB is impossible to ignore.

As I start reviewing the set's performance, I can't help but be concerned about how its standard definition pictures will hold up. After all, aside from its Resolution+ TVs, Toshiba has struggled slightly to deliver really likeable standard definition...

The Toshiba is far from disgraceful, but neither is it up to the standard of rival sets in this class

Very pleasant and controlled HD images ; decent detail and colours all-round

Upscaled images could be more refined ; less-than impressive motion

A very competent all round performer just off the pace of the best LCD TV's ..

Toshiba's mid range offering is a significant improvement on previous efforts from the Japanese manufacturer. The problem is that the bar has been raised by a number of other manufacturers with the 42XV555D finding itself just off the pace.

Bush LY2211WCW: Who'd a thought I'd go for Bush?

Introduction: I've been after an LCD TV for a while now. I got sick of my old TV, it was a CRT (cathode ray tube) - which means it was big, bulky, heavy and took up way too room in my flat. After researching into the types of LCD TVs I could get, I...

Panasonic TH-42PZ80B: Get the Big Picture!!!

Bought this TV last year, in fact early last year and it looked the biz as soon as it came out of the box. Fortunately my supplier delivered, did all the minor assembly of stand, etc, cabled all the kit up (including my DVD and PVR) and tuned...

Samsung PS-42A456P: Best Sub-£500 TV. Fact.

I spent hours and hours on the internest looking at reviews of TV's. There's a mind boggling number of things that you're supposed to look at, is it high definition, is full HD? whats the contrast ratio? refresh rate? It goes on and on. If you want a...

It does moving pictures and sound better than the competition but costs less

Colour And Image Quality You Can Feel

They say size does not matter, but I'm realising it does. We have had a pretty rough run on TV's over the last two years, our 28" Phillips CRT (Cathode Ray Television (big chunky thing)) television died three times in as many months (foreign components...

Excellent picture, easy set up, great sound

Panasonic TX-32LZD80

Really like this TV, have bought it recently and very impressed. The design looks really cool and it draws attention to itself. It is a flat screen, as I have come to accept from my TVs now, long gone are the days when I would settle for a bulky TV...

Flat screen, good picture and sound quality

Not really

Toshiba Regza 37XV555D

easy to use. looks good on ps3/xbox360 via HDMI ; HD quality good from sky HD, apart from the overbearing red levels in peoples faces

picture quality is average at best. Red levels are way too high, especially bad in peoples faces ; Contrast not too good on indoor scenes ; Constantly trying to adjust settings to improve things ; Some backlight bleed ; Average SD quality from sky digital
